About Rinkaku / MASSIVE Vol. 8
The song was almost called MINERVA, as Kyo had suggested himself.
The word MINERVA came when thinking of the lyrics of the song, naturally: he was in a mindset of fighting to live, and this Roman goddess of war and wiseness flows with the rest, even if it seems to come out of nowhere among the rest of the lyrics.
Kyo feels that he is expressing the contour of his own self in this song.
He considered that expressing himself in just two ways (poetry and singing) was flat, and did not make him shine as a unique person. If he shows other forms of art, then he thinks it finally becomes interesting.
For Rinkaku, he uses the Falsetto like he used to do more maybe at the beginning of Dir en grey, because he tried it out and found that it could express that the song did not have a narrow world view and was a grand feeling. It still came to be very Dir en grey-like regardless.
He knows that he does maniac things and he wonders what kind of fans still follow him. He considers that he is always looking for more freedom, and that comes through breaking things that are established. If he met another person whom he would consider has that sort of freedom (which had not happened yet apparently, or very rarely), then he would not feel jealousy. He might be OK with them, or dislike them, like anybody else.
Between tours, he does not think of the upcoming tour. Even if other bands try to satiate the fans’ impatience, he just flows naturally and in that time, he feels like more of himself got developed.
For remakes, Kyo feels that he should be enjoying himself with the songs, which could not happen if he listened to and copied the original. If it sounds too much like the original, then ultimately your mind will always be reminded about it instead of appreciating the new one.
