Well you can access the distribution site (at least the French one) it’s on the archive and it has every single detail of their planet and the early promo pictures too (in case you were wondering whether it’s legit)

ignore my dirty ahh screen like gen, but through the press kit I own I found out that they don’t have seasons, their planet is summer all year around.

please keep in mind that I have gotten it through the web archive as the domain was already physically down later after the release of the movie so yes the only way is the web archive. The stuff is all public information and easy accessible.

The archived websites go as early as November 2008, for France the release date was Feb 3rd 2010. This web entry doesnt hold as much info.

The early poster design is dated 2007, yes the press kit notes that they have been planning Planet 51 probably since 2006/2007… And yes Shrek is indirectly related to Planet 51

Although, once we come to 2011 (2009 and 2010 do not have any entries) we see it’s totally different now.

(not the comic sans tho my poor inner former graphic designer and artist🫩)

The website describes in detail what their goal was, how the P51 inhabitants are socially, culturally and their environment too. Even how long it takes to get there... unlike the physical press kit, you can let your browser translate the text. It’s not like a photo or a rigid box inserted into the code. It’s all text, able to be copied and translated.

Of course it’s also all written down in the press kit. I’ll make a separate post about that one too.
