Forever gonna angst that hardly anyone knew the students who died in thh.
(Hifumi and Celeste arenāt on here because⦠i honestly canāt make them all that deep. Sorry. and no im not doing junko lmao)
No one knew Sayaka Maizono. To most she was the āHot Jpop girlā. But thatās not Sayaka Maizono. Sayaka Maizono was a timid, dependent young girl who needed someone to hold her (because sheās been holding herself for years), but in the absence of what she needed and wanted, she decided to mask herself in radiance to feel an illusion of happiness that was derived from otherās enjoyment of her endless efforts (which they donāt understand)
No one knew Mukuro Ikusaba. No one. Anyone who possibly could have known her didnāt see the horrific abuses she underwent from Junko and how it destroyed her. They didnāt see the girl who was willing to follow her dear sister to the ends of the earth completely unaware that phrase would become very literal.
No one knew Leon Kuwata. To most he was the arrogant baseball star who didnāt appreciate his talent, when in reality he was stuck in something he couldnāt control. Baseball was never his choice but itās all heās ever known. He doesnāt know what he really want to do or get out of life, and he tries to become independent from his initial position (which he didnāt ask for) by pursuing something he only wants for the sake of wanting it.
No one knew Chihiro Fujisaki. To most she was the adorable techie streamer, but one knew how violently toxic masculinity from others killed her(twice). They didnāt know that toxic masculinity both placed her into an identity that one day made her happy, but also stole her from if. They knew āherā but not her.
note: I headcanon Chihiro as transfem. If you donāt agree thatās fine, but i suggest you keep reading
No one knew Mondo Owada. To most he was a ādelinquent bikerā. Because they didnāt know that a vicious street culture could shred a boy so far apart that the moment he has a chance to prove heās not the stupid kid heās always assumed to be, the ego heās adopted only for the sake of swallowing up the fragile, soft thing beneath it, would end up destroying him in ways he could only imagine in a nightmare, settling a guilt over him that eats at his insides every night and day
No one knew Kiyotaka Ishimaru. To most he was the āself righteous hall monitor with an egoā. Really, Kiyotaka Ishimaru was a young man adopting guilt from wounds heād never cut himself but still had to spend a life drowning in the blood while he tried to sew it together. They didnāt understand that his excessive rule-abiding and powerful behavior was a desperate attempt to maintain control in a life where he had none. They didnāt know that his violent, desperate devotion to being a perfect student was just evidence of how deeply he felt that hard work overcomes innate talent, that one day if he just works hard enough, he can become immune to mistakes and inspire others to do their best. They didnāt know that he pushed this onto others as a method of supporting them because no one other than his father would do so to him.
No one knew Sakura Ogami. To most she was an āUgly monsterā. But Sakura Ogami was a beautiful woman. She dedicated herself solely to uphold the titles passed down to her, titles and honors she would defend and fight for no matter what it took. Sakura Ogami was far from a monster, she was an altruistic motivator who believed in the worth of others whilst still maintaining pragmatic and rational values.
