They told me you would get used to the tension before battle. The buzzing in the veins, everything being too quiet, and most of all: the Songs of fellow soldiers all around feeling the same tension as you.
The Academy lied, of course. You never get used to it. You just learn to cope with it, by whatever means necessary. The shit that goes through your head during battle, though? I don’t know if you can ever really cope with that.
