One weird niche thing that I know is that this picture of Persephone that gets used a lot (and also comes up pretty early when you search ‘Persephone’ on google images) is actually naruto fanart of a fanfic that I read in 2013.

It originated online as deviantart fanart posted in 2012 depicting Sakura Haruno as Persephone. It was based on a popular Hades/Persephone SasuSaku fanfic called ‘Quietus’. I looked it up and the original artist of this portrait was called Reynaile on DA.

It’s so funny to see people pull this picture up in videos where they talk about Persephone. Over a decade, this fanart of a SasuSaku fanfic somehow became an iconic depiction of Persephone that’s been divorced from its original context. But if you know, you know. The eyes and hair are a dead giveaway that you’re looking at Sakura Haruno.
