Satoru and Suguru have a soft morning together ♡ dont like, dont read please!
Suguru looked peaceful for once. His body tucked between the heavy blanket over his body and the soft cotton sheets shifted towards Satoru as if it was naturally always done that way.
His eyes stayed close, straight lashes making shadows on his cheeks, the beautiful man making small, sleepy sounds between movements. It's about 6:30 AM on a spring morning, their favorite time of year – the perfect weather for taking a walk in a park or lazing on the couch. Ever since Satoru has retired, their lives have been a peaceful bliss.
Satoru's eyes fluttered open, his chest rising and falling slowly when he stretches his body to look over at Suguru. He grumbles a bit in his half-asleep state of mind, flopping on his other side and throwing an arm and a leg over Suguru. He huddled up close, curling up his own body to rest against the headboard, back straight and legs curled.
His arm strokes soothing circles on Suguru's shoulder, humming softly to himself as his brain takes in the sight. It's everything he could've dreamed for in his past miserable life of being used as a weapon – something people only value for his strength. An emphasis on not someone, something. He was something to them. Not someone.
To Suguru, his cherry blossom in all of this, despite them nearly pulling apart, they made it anyway. He inhales slowly, looking at the fanned out hair on the pillow, Suguru's mumbling, and the warmth beside him. He doesn't have to sleep on the cold bed anymore, or he doesn't have to hold his head in his hands and sob at the ridiculousness of the situation of missing someone still alive. He's here now.
His eyes like glaciers zero on Suguru's chest – the slow rise and fall of his usually anxious, restless husband brings a peace to his mind. He tilts his head, thinking about what it would be like if Suguru wasn't here with him. It would've been much worse, he probably would've been at work right now, or maybe dead. Who knows?
His hand tightens on Suguru's shoulder, body tensing momentarily at the thought of his life before Suguru Getō – and his heart has a sharp pain. It skips a beat, and slowly but surely rises. His heart pounds in his chest, you could see it pulsing through his wrist.
His vision slightly blurs and snows at the edges, anxiety rising in his brain and ribcage. He didn't know where this all came from. He doesn't want to forget – huh? What? What's going on? What was he just thinking about?
Suguru breathes awake – his brows furrowing when he looks up at Satoru's blanked out face. He gets alerted instantly, sitting up against the headboard and taking his good hand to grab Satoru's wrists.
"Hey. Satoru." He mumbles, voice gravel from sleep. "Are you with me right now?"
Satoru blinks.
"Huh? Baby? Yeah– yeah, m'fine. Sorry. You're just so pretty... didn't want to wake you."
Suguru's eyes squint, and his robot arm goes to wrap around Satoru's waist from under the blanket. He holds him close in his arms, taking a deep breath. He knows he's lying, but it's too early right now to talk. He'll let it go this one time, but he knows that everyday is a struggle with his memory. He thinks about it everyday – Satoru isn't the only one.
"Okay. But if you want to talk to me, I'm right here."
Satoru nods, a cheeky smile appearing on his face as his heart starts to slow down again. He nuzzles Suguru's forehead with his nose, nosing his hair. It smells nice, like clean shampoo. He kisses Suguru's forehead, letting his lips linger.
The other man grins a little, shaking his head in exasperated love. He lowers his head to kiss Satoru's neck, right under his jaw, and across his shoulder. His long hair gets tangled easy when his head rubs against the sheets, thats a problem for fully awake Suguru.
"Good. You know I care for you." He mumbles against Satoru's throat, leaving another kiss on his Adam's apple. He feels the heat rise to Satoru's face, skin turning warm and red in approximately 10 seconds.
"Yeah. I know." He whispers, cheeks flushed, but making sure to keep his cool. His hand rubs over Suguru's arm, moving to the robotic one to show he loves it too.
Suguru leans back against the headboard, pulling back momentarily to close his eyes.
"Go back to sleep, Satoru. I'm sure your dreams are better than staring at me for an hour, hm?"
Satoru nods. He's not going to listen, though.
"Sure."
Suguru inhales again, body lax, and lets himself barely drift off again. His hand stays put on Satoru's waist, clutching to make sure he knows hes still safe and there.
Satoru, despite his fuzzy memory, he won't ever forget the curve of Suguru's lips or the slope of his nose. His hand clutches as well, puppy-dog eyes barely moving. The pupils of his are blown, looking in awe at his sleeping husband. His heart hammers, but slower and for a different reason. He doesnt smile. He doesnt need to.
The golden streaks of sunlight peak out through their window, the bright sun telling them it's time to get up. They won't listen, though. They'll rest how they need to now.
It casts a beautiful light on Suguru's face. The gold accentuates his features, perfect against his black hair – and Satoru finally gives into a tiny smile.
Tears fill his eyes as he cups Suguru's face, thumb brushing over a scar on his eye. He thinks to himself,
I loved you then, I love you now, and I'll love you until my brain gives out.
He lets the sun shine bright against their faces, and he lets himself drift off to sleep aswell. He deserves it too, doesn't he?
