Actually the more I look at it the more I like it. I kinda wanted to show what's going on in Gentle's brain. All of the unspeakable violence she's witnessed and perpetuated

Maybe I should revive my muffins fanfiction? Maybe once finals are over I'll start seriously writing it? It's going to be an alternate ending of sorts, beginning where The Final Crusade ended, as Celestia finally develops a plan to stop the bakers once and for all. It'll be inspired a lot by slasher movies and Cheerliee's Garden: Scarlet Harvest. I want to make the bakers really turn against each other and have their relationships seriously challenged.

One of my first drawings of Gentle Butterwing. I think of her not as a psychopath, but as a pony who's empathy was eroded away by brute force as her friends died and she ascended the factory's ranks. This drawing was inspired by Amber Waves by Ethel Cain. At the end of the album, the main character has thrown away everything that was important to them in order to get high. Gentle I feel is similar, as she sold her soul for power and control.

One of the most interesting details about Rainbow Factory is that the production of rainbows serve no actual purpose. In Pegasus Device they explain that the pegasi of old were just killing disabled pegasi and experimenting on them to see if they could find a use for their corpses. That's when they discovered spectra. Some fanfics add that rainbows help distribute magic to pegasi so that they can fly and walk on clouds, but I think the idea that rainbows are basically just used as an excuse to create a pegasus ethnostate makes the story more realistic and layered.
