Today is the day “Carousel” (the single) was posted as a YouTube release!

So I’d thought I’d post my unfinished Carousel animation as tribute (and because it’s never being finished).

A bit more ranting under the cut—

This used to be my absolute favorite song, if you couldn’t tell by my calendar marking.

I’m not sure it’s the same now (probably been overtaken by Sludge lol), but it still holds a huge spot in my heart <3

This animation has to have been 1-2 years old at this point, I just never posted BECAUSE it was staying unfinished… plus my gripes with it. I was freestyling what would happen every scene, which, while keeping me captivated in the moment, it just didn’t give me more ideas for the next part.

I don’t fuck with all of the animation either- I always thought some of it looked choppy. I also kept forgetting to animate Vylet’s bun…..

But the parts I like still stand today, which is why I can never ever hate this project. Even if it’s unfinished!!

made a textmode art of some Vylet Pony characters (specifically based on the album Carousel)

I randomly remembered that textmode art was a thing the other week and decided I needed to draw Creekflow with it.

I used the Commodore 64 character set + color palette but tbh next time I do something like this I'll probably just make my own color palette cause the palette I used really wasn't that good for drawing these characters.

This was sort of based on the story stuff that corresponds with Bass Cannon and originally I also used some lyrics from Bass Cannon but I decided to change it to lyrics from The Carrion Child because the original lyrics I chose didn't really fit with the drawing very much. Although The Carrion Child also has a lot of stuff in it that could be really interesting to draw so maybe I'll do something based on that sometime.

Anyways here's some WIP stuff from this since I spent maybe too long on it.

The first image is a little thing i drew over a screenshot to try and help figure out how to get the expressions and stuff to work better. When I did this I was almost done with the full thing though.

The second image is what would have originally been the final thing. But I didn't like how Lulamoon looked in it in like a lot of different ways so I eventually just decided to fully redraw her. Tbh I do think I like the original better in some ways but the newer one is a lot better overall.

The third image is an older version where I had the original lyrics I was going to use. The background also is much emptier.

Anyways posting this so that I don't spend like another week just tweaking it.

I'm finally done with my Monarch of Monsters by @vyl3tpwny fanart :D! And I'm also done with the novella and I CAN'T I LOVE ALL OF THESE CHARACTERS SO MUCH MORE THAN BEFORE HOW'S THIS POSSIBLE I feel like I will not be able to not keep making fanarts cuz IT'S JUST SO GOOD xD I also keep infodumping on my friends about thisss

Genuinely thank u so much Vylet, I'm just in awe at everything that surrounds this album and these characters!! Edit: I almost forgot to mention but I took a lot of inspiration from the MoM art booklet and especially the works from @astroeden and @larvaecandy, two awesome artists that killed it on the art department!
