Drawing Boards, of Queens, NY, grapples with this absurdity on its first album. In our digital day, the band uses the classic sounds of indie-pop to reflect on the minutes and the years just passed.

New York City, NY – Drawing Boards will be releasing their self-titled album on March 2 via Gentle Reminder Records. Take a listen to their track “Grass Grows Backwards”, a classic indie rock songs that’ll transport you a decade back. There’s kind of a post-rock math-y vibe that reminds me of American Football, which I absolutely love. Make sure you definitely listen through the whole song for the slick guitar riffs at the end.

We're teaming up with our friends at Forged Artifacts to release Wind Vane, the brilliant new EP from Calgrove! It's out October 6th digitally and on cassette. Both editions are available here on Bandcamp. The first single, "Flak Bait," is available to listen to now on Post-Trash! Dan Goldin writes that this EP "sets up Batton and Stansbury as two of the best up-and-coming songwriters.”

“Flak Bait” is restrained and washed out with gorgeous lap steel to set the tone. A country leaning ballad built upon Batton's hushed vocals and the gentle guitars, the track's worn-in melody sweeps back and forth like the tide sneaking upon the shore.

Despite the health hazards it presents, the Slurpee is, without a doubt, one of the great inventions of the past half-century. All departments at Gentle Reminder, from the engineering labs to the mouthfeel focus groups, agree on this.
