And my dad Willie Chan can enjoy a red carpet-like event that actually was really like a movie premiere and not just a pop up shop opening party! There are somethings that are worth doing in life. It's been 7 years since I've celebrated with my father for his birthday. Although he says Birthday is just another day. Any issues he's had, he has always shouldered it all by himself. Never letting us worry. His priority has always been his family, his wife, our mother @christinetolingt and us three kids of his. @xomandeexo @carriiet91_ @sickofmysis He's definitely one of the most selfless man that exist in this world. He cares so much about us, more than himself. He taught me to always think of others first. Righteousness, and dubbed by the city as the "黃飛鴻", the hero that has helped countless people to be at a better place. He taught us to be considerate, patient and listen and hear everything carefully to what others have to say. Be as helpful as you can, give the best solutions to their problems and hurdles. He takes pride with helping with the smallest detail and is always thinking of ways to make live easier for those in need. He also taught me the importance of 飲水思源, to remember your roots, to stay humble, among other really deep Chinese sayings that I never always fully understood and slowly, as I'm getting older, just learning and making sense of it all. I guess I'm a slow learner but I have kept every word to my heart from as far as I can remember. Telling me he's fallen many times and got right back up and keep pushing himself not for himself, but for us, for family. He never expects anything back from us kids except happiness and a good comfortable happy life. I suck cos I've continuously disappointed him. But for him, I've fallen and I've climbed back up, and I hope one day I can make him proud. Happy Birthday Dad! And I'm sorry I never became the son you envisioned. I know you love me no less and I will continue to compete with myself, challenge myself, and be a better version of myself, till my last breath. You're always going to be my hero! And I wish I could be there with you now, and spend more time with you.
