Yagen Toushirou is almost completely blind without his glasses. That’s why most of his battle stats suck, because he doesn’t wear his glasses into battle.
It takes him a moment to recognize his comrades, since they all appear as blurs and/or distorted figures to him.
He moves his head to look at things, not his eyes. The only time he glances at something without moving his head is when he’s wearing his glasses.
However, this does not make him a bad swordsman. If anything, it improves his style of fighting. He knows how to plan ahead extremely quickly, even while he’s being flung into the air.
He can also sense the presence of his enemies. All Touken Danshi can do this, however, his senses are slightly more advanced compared to theirs due to the disadvantage in his poor eyesight.
Yagen Toushirou is a scary tantou. He might be only 5 ft tall, but he’s dangerous and takes his work seriously. He knows that taking glasses into battle is a hazard, especially while he’s doing flips and jumping in the air. He’s one of the only swords with glasses who bothers to take them off while on duty.
So, to conclude this, Yagen Toushirou is a badass motherfucker. Not some meek science child with glasses. He knows what the fuck he’s doing 100%.
