Có những chuyện hằng ngày tôi chả nói được với em, nên là tôi chọn cách đem sang đây kể. Như là chuyện hiện tại tôi chấp nhận việc mình chưa là gì của nhau, nhưng từ đầu đến cuối ý định của tôi chưa bao giờ chỉ đơn thuần là cứ làm bạn. Tôi cũng từng nghĩ thôi trăm sự tại duyên, giờ cứ tiếp tục tới đâu hay tới đó, không nên đặt nặng chuyện tương lai ràng buộc nhiều khi lại bền hơn. Nghĩ thì ngon vậy đó, mà làm đâu có dễ!

Anh về nhà đã gần đúng 3 tuần. Cả 3 tuần nay anh tự cho phép bản thân lười biếng. Mặc dù có cả một núi việc cần giải quyết, viết sẵn ra cả một to-do list nhưng đến nay việc anh làm đều đặn nhất chỉ là ngày ngày chờ rejection email từ công việc anh đặt nhiều hi vọng nhất và xem đi xem lại job postings trên trang tìm việc của trường. Hôm nay anh mới vừa sực nhớ ra mình vẫn chưa đặt ra mục tiêu nhất định gì cho năm nay. Nguyện vọng thì đầy ra, như là sẽ có được một công việc nhất định trước cuối năm, có thể sắp xếp thời gian đi thăm em ít nhất một lần tiện thể kết hợp du lịch châu Âu chẳng hạn. Nhưng những chuyện đấy bây giờ xem ra vẫn còn xa vời lắm. Thực tế nhất chắc chỉ có mỗi chuyện cố gắng dành thời gian quan tâm đến bạn bè nhiều hơn trong những tháng cuối cùng làm sinh viên này. Những chuyện còn lại thôi coi như tuỳ duyên nhỉ. Mà em bắt anh chờ gần 8 tháng rồi ấy. Cũng may là bây giờ ngoài câu “xem xét” ra em còn có thêm một lí do mới, chỉ sợ nhận lời sẽ làm khổ anh. Hôm nay anh đùa, thử friendzone em tí, thế là tỏ ngay thái độ không hài lòng giãy nãy hết cả lên. Cứ bảo anh dễ dụ cũng được, nhưng những chuyện nhỏ nhặt thế thôi cũng đủ làm anh an tâm hơn tí. Anh chả biết rồi cuối năm nay nhìn lại anh có cảm thấy hài lòng mãn nguyện không. Nhưng thôi, trước hết cứ hãy cố đã nhé!

Most of his works are his street murals, which cleverly incorporate the surrounding architectural features into the compositions. When I wrote Love in the Time of Global Warming I wasn’t planning to make all four main characters LGBTQ but they just came out that way (no pun intended). One young reader said it bothered her that all four characters were LGBTQ. She said she thought at least one or two could have been straight. I’d imagine this is how LGBTQ kids feel like when they read books with all straight characters, over and over again.
