âŠ.i mean⊠yea
Thatâs a giant Isopod, which exclusively live in the deep sea, though some have been seen at 250-350ft deep. Theyâre loosely related to crabs and shrimp by being a crustacean, though they belong to the wrong genus. Their genus classification is Bathynomus, which contains a wide variety of species.
They do bite, but itâs nothing to fuss over. Most marine biologists and aquarium employees just wear gloves to stop the bite. Itâs due to the fact they donât have a very large mouth. Donât think they bite because theyâre mean either! Theyâre scavengers (for the most part), which means they kinda just latch onto stuff they find. If they do hunt anything, it might be stuff like sponges, sea stars, and other slow moving things, weâre still researching their activity.Â
They also donât have very good eye sight, due to the fact that they live around 550ft to over 7000ft deep, where itâs pitch dark. But they do have very cool compound eyes that have over 4000 individual cells in them. They also have a reflective layer in the back of the eye called a tapeum that allows them to see better (better than they would be able to do otherwise) in the dark, like felines and crustaceans. Â
The shiny parts are its eyes.
Oh, and they also curl up into a ball with threatened, not attack, and they mostly live in a state of semi-hibernation.
The more you know.

Americans please explain why your schools are so wild
The poop one killed me
Our schools are wild because we're forced to sit at tiny desks in the prime of our lives to be trained to work in factories that don't exist anymore. We get bored, because people aren't meant to sit on their butts all day, you know?

Why does this button exist? "Here, let me set this to a lower quality, because a comic needs it for some reason?"
You asked "Would you rather die or live in a group home?" Just wanted to point out that this is a hilariously fallacious argument because had the child been aborted, they would have absolutely no concept of life or death. They have no sense of self, being, consciousness. If a fetus (not a child) is aborted, they aren't killed, they're undone. Your entire argument is bullshit because fetuses do not experience death. Also, nobody wants to live in a crowded group home. Shut the fuck up.
Take ten minutes to think about what I said, and about what you said. A fetus is alive. It is growing, processing oxygen, making new cell, constantly changing. It is alive and growing. A fetus is not a lump of flesh or a tumor that magically poofs into a baby after 9 months. You just told me âsomething that is not alive can not experience deathâ. Like a stuffed animal, sure. A corpse? Maybe. But is someone in a vegetive state also not alive and cannot experience death? Perhaps. You have to ask yourself these questions. I was told âit isnât about whether itâs alive, itâs about if it is humanâ.
All the things that make a fetus ânot a humanâ also make the physically and mentally handicapped ânot humansâ and already born babies ânot humansâ.
They said they were allowing abortions of babies up to 36 weeks. A month is 4 weeks. 34 weeks divided by 4 is 9 months. What is the difference between a newborn and a 9 month old fetus? Why is one okay to kill as long as one toe is in the birth canal but not the other?
What makes killing a 9 month old fetus a medical procedure but mere minutes later turns killing that newborn into murder?
Perhaps the difference is in a word. Fetus or baby. Medical procedure or murder. Perhaps it is the matter of âI donât want this babyâ. Yes, but as youâve stated âsomething that is not alive cannot experience deathâ so by YOUR logic, Mister Bond, the minutes between when a fetus of 9 months is being born and between when it IS born, the baby somehow has life breathed into it through some sort of magic, am I correct?
You can insult me all day, but it wonât change the fact that I am right.
TL:DR: you would have to read to understand the science behind what Iâm saying.
Thereâs no complicated science behind anything youâre saying. A human fetus is human. A fetus is usually living.
You used a whole lot of words to say something very simple. Something that 99% of us know to be true.
And now I ask, so what? I am human. I am alive. Does that give me the right to use your body against your will? Can I have your kidney without your consent? How about some bone marrow? Or just some blood? Is it acceptable for you to be forced to donate to me? Even if you donât want to?
Remember, Iâm alive. Iâm human.
If weâre handcuffed together against our consent, do we have the right to kill each other?
Do you really think being handcuffed to someone is equal to pregnancy?
Please answer my questions. I am a living human. Am I entitled to your body for my survival? Does the mere fact that I am alive and human mean that your rights are null and void if I need resources from your body?
I canât find it, but I said even if they forced me to donate parts of my body it wouldnât work unless weâre the same blood type.
Let me answer your question with another question:
Are your rights null and void because I donât want you around?
And do you know what a metaphor/analogy/allegory is?
That is not an answer to my questions. Obviously, assume weâre a match. Am I entitled to your kidney, marrow, or blood just because I am a human who is alive? Do I get to use your body against your will?
If I am using your body to survive and you donât want me to, then you have every right to deny me access to your body even if it means death. And that would, in no way, be a violation of my rights. Why? Because I donât have the right to use your body against your will.
Two sentient and independent people being handcuffed together is not comparable to pregnancy. I understand what an analogy is. Yours sucked.
I would donate to you, though, because contrary to popular belief, Iâm not a piece of shit. (Nothing to do with you, unless youâre the one who called me that).
Iâm not saying people who get abortions are bad, either, but theyâve made us out to be demons when weâre just trying to keep people from being hurt. Abortion doesnât just kill a fetus; it irrepriably psychologically damages the mother, as well.
Thatâs not what I asked either. I asked if I had a right to your body just because I am alive and human. And I am going to assume your answer to that is no.
But, hereâs something for you to consider: I would not want you forced to donate even if I would die otherwise. Because you have the right to say no. And I am not entitled to your body. And you should not be obligated to risk your health or life for me. That would not be fair to you.
If I canât use someone elseâs body for survival and you canât use someone elseâs body for survival, then neither can a fetus.
Abortion itself is no more psychologically damaging to a person than pregnancy and childbirth or adoption is. And if people like you would stop trying to shame people for it, we could eliminate the stigma surrounding abortion and alleviate most of the suffering people experience after an abortion.
Did you know that pregnancy and childbirth can also cause mental health issues? Did you know that being denied an abortion causes more initial stress and anxiety than having an abortion? Did you know that, overall, people who seek abortion and actually get to have their abortions tend to fair better than people who donât?
http://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamapsychiatry/article-abstract/2592320
https://mobile.nytimes.com/2013/06/16/magazine/study-women-denied-abortions.html
Of course some people will regret or stress over their abortions. Just like some people will regret or stress over giving their kid up for adoption or even over raising their kid. But that doesnât mean any of these choices should be restricted for other people.
Who said I was shaming anyone? Did I say you should be ashamed? I even said right up there people who get abortions arenât bad.
Why are you shaming me for wanting to keep a child?
Seriously? In a previous ask you went on and on saying things like âkilling childrenâ and âshoving tools up your cervix.â And previously you talked about how people who abort are âbrainwashedâ and how people who are raped would rather âkill a childâ than see their rapist punished. You compared abortion to infanticide.
Yeah, you have readily and gleefully shamed people for aborting. And then you want to turn around and talk about the psychological affects of abortion as if things like the shit youâve been saying donât play a huge fucking part in that.
Where did I shame you for wanting to keep a child? If you are pregnant or you get pregnant, I want you to do what YOU WANT to do. And thereâs no shame in it whether you carry to term or abort.
MBC: provides a reasonable argument and backs it up with scientific sources
This person: âwhy are you shaming me????â
Lmfao
This person never once answered a simple yes/no to the question: am I entitled to your body? and then gets mad that they were called out on shaming people who got abortions.
I wish this was rare amongst pro-lifers but damn, the dissonance is strong with this one.
Sorry, but youâre wrong. If I can decide what to do with my body, then I can decide not to got vaccinations, right? I donât like needles.
Actually⊠yeah.
That⊠thatâs the point of bodily autonomy.
You okay there?
No. I'm not okay.
Holy shit you've got the mental capacity of a six year old
Yes, I have the mental capacity of a six year old, because I don't believe in a force that magically breathes life into a baby in between the minutes before it is born and after it is born.
I have the mental capacity of a six year old because I'm applying science and research to a situation to find out the truth about something instead of rolling over and believing in what I'm told.
Even a 6 year old has enough brains to know when somethig is alive or not.
And I bet you chastise christians for being sheep.
hey I've watched game grumps since the beginning and the OP of that post was spot-on actually lmao
What I mean to say is even if they're spot on, these are real people behind these screens. Even if they do say something bad, it is impossible to judge an entire person's character on a few statements taken out of context. You don't know them personally, in real life, or who they really are as a person, and it is unfair to judge them like that. You can say "I didn't like what they did" and that's okay, but you can't say "I hate them and they deserve to die." That is NOT okay.
