                      “ It’s SCORPIUS right? Are you lost or something?”                          She raised her eyebrow at the Malfoy. She had heard                         enough about him from Rose and Albus.                         “Don’t find many teenagers choosing to spend their days                          at the ministry.”              

“I’m not lost, thank you.” Scorpius says, smiling up at the pretty woman. He thinks he might have met her once or twice before, or perhaps seen her at the Ministry on those odd days his father was summoned. He can’t quite remember he name though and it makes him feel a little embarrassed. 

“I didn’t exactly choose to be here. Al sent me on this strange scavenger hunt and I’m a bit stuck on the next clue.” He explains, brow furrowing. His face lights up suddenly as he looks at her, though. 

“Oh! Are you the clue?”

“Bad doesn’t quite cover how I feel about it. I mean, it’s June, where’s all my sunshine?”

Spending too much time in one’s room was a page from introvert bible that Calla tended to follow a bit too often. But, now with a handful of rowdy roommates it was almost impossible to get lost in the pages of care of magic creatures. So he had migrated out of the dorms, cat and all, into the library. He wasn’t up for the games they were playing in the Slytherin common rooms. And mum always told him to get out more.

He had planned to tuck himself into a quiet corner until– Was that a familiar head of blonde? Someone he’d hardly seen since before school.

He cautiously approached the other boy and sat beside him. There was a short lull of silence before he hissed, “So since we’re in different houses you’re not going to talk to me anymore?”

His stern gaze melted and he chuckled. “Merlin, I feel like I haven’t seen you in forever.”

Scorpius hated rainy days. They forced him indoors and out of his environment, subjected to getting his studying done in the library - which, terrible, he hated the library, it was so stuffy. 

Somehow though, he’d managed to immerse himself in a book about starfish - the tome looked suspiciously muggle. Scorpius wondered how it snuck its way into the library, and if there were more like it floating about. He wasn’t interrupted when a body dropped into the seat next to him, choosing to read on until an all too familiar voice piped up. 

“Calla!” Scorpius cried, seeing right through the mean tone as a brilliant grin lit up his face. “It has been forever!” And Scorpius was diving out of his chair, arms wrapped around his old friend before he could get another word out. 

“Oh I’ve missed you! How are the snakes?” Scorpius asked, drawing back and flopping into his own seat, smile still firmly set on his face.

    Luke turned the face the male when he tapped his shoulder. His brows raised in curiosity of       what could be so important that he even seemed out of breath. He couldn’t deny the fact that      Scorpius not being able to tell that he’s formerly Lily made him happy. He let a small smile       slip through and looked passed him a moment, “Lead the way.” He spoke at the male and as      he did, Luke followed. “I know who you are, Scorpius.”

“Well,” Scorpius starts, hurrying down the corridor. “Lily knew who I was. You’re clearly not Lily. It seems a bit silly to assume you both know me when we’ve never had a proper meeting.” Scorpius says, the whole concept making sense in his mind. 

“Speaking of, what is your name?” He asks, because it seems only polite. Scorpius doesn’t think it would be right to call him ‘boy-who-isn’t-lily-but-knows-me’.

“Well, I don’t particularly care for the sunshine anyways. It’s very hard to look intimidating when the sun is blinding you - plus, it’s still warm, we do have fires going, you know… How can you stand YOUR common room? It’s all… yellow. Very… BRIGHT yellow. It looks like the sun threw up on it.”

“Squinting is very intimidating.” Scorpius says, nodding twice like it’s a fact that Al should already know. “Fire... such a poor substitute.” He sighs quietly.

“First off, it’s not all yellow. It’s very earthy as well, lots of brown. Wherever are you getting your information from? That’s just silly, the sun can’t throw up, it’s a star, Albus.”

“You mean blond? Like you?” Fawkes ran a hand through his short sandy hair. “What color would you even dye it? You know there’s potions for that right? Like…Temporary ones?”

“Not like me at all though. Yours is all, you know, blond. Mine’s just mostly white. Very boring.” Scorpius tugs a strand of it between his fingers as if to demonstrate the difference. 

“Really? I’ve never come across any... Would I have to brew them myself? I’m rather dreadful at potions.”

“I did not sneeze !! I think I’d know if I was the one that managed to get it up there. Yes, grab a chair. I would have but...” Scorpius gestures vaguely at the height.

“ Hmm ? “ the redhead looks up from where she’d biting on the end of her quill, trying to finish her herbology homework. She blinks once she sees the older boy, flashing him a smile once she comprehends what he’s asked.

“ Well, what are you doing standing up then ? Come on, what exactly is it you’re having trouble with ? “ she gestures at the other chair, setting the quill on the table & scooting closer.

Scorpius takes the proffered seat, a grateful smile gracing his features as he dumps his book bag on the table. “It’s a Dogbreath Potion. We need it for the mid term exam and I can’t seem to make it produce anything other than wispy smoke.”

He’s pulling out his potions text as he talks, flipping to the page and pointing out the potion. “You might not have covered it yet, but if you could give me any insight it would be appreciated.”

“Did you throw it in with your laundry again? You can borrow one of mine if you need to.”

“Oh.” Scorpius pauses, coloring slightly before grinning sheepishly. “No, I hadn’t. But if you don’t mind, I might take you up on that offer. I’m almost certain mine smells less than pleasant.”

GROANS AND YELLS HELLO. gosh i gathered up quite a bunch of you overnight. uhm OKAY i gotta go to work and i’m still in the midst of greeters but 

LIKE THIS!!! if you want a longer starter (couple paragraphs or so). i’ll get to em and the rest of the greeters after work. and message me if ya got any verse ideas uvu otherwise have a LOVELY DAY DARLINGS!!!

“I’ll never understand how you stand your common room. I mean, the sun doesn’t even warm it up in the summer! You miss out on so much sunshine.”

“Lily.” Scorpius tries. “Lily!” He says a little louder. “Al said you were decent at potions, and I’m having more than my fair share of trouble with the practical bit of it.”

“Li -” Scorpius pauses for a moment, purses his lips and cocks his head. The boy he’s seeing is not Lily, but they appeared to have shared the same body-space for a time. Never one to dwell or care much for matters like this, Scorpius quickly changes course because he needs something. “I don’t really have time to introduce myself, but I’m certain one of your brothers is getting into a fight in the courtyard and I’m not entirely sure what to do about it. They’re getting awfully close to one of the open air gardens.”
