First post goes out to my first love

She was startled by his piercing eyes. It was as if every time looking into those celery green orbs was the first. But nearly a decade since they met, only love and trust could be found in his gaze. 

Truth be told, they didn't get along in the beginning. She was overreaching, aggressive in her need for love. Maybe she was trying to fill the hold her first had left. He was hesitant to trust her, made shy by a short yet abusive relationship.

Nine years, however, healed old wounds. Don’t get me wrong, they still have their differences. She can’t stand his morning breath and her sappy nicknames irritate him. But in the end they accept each other’s quirks.

And on this morning, his dreamy green eyes say it all: “Thanks for the kibble, human.”
