My favorite Thrawn moment is in the first Ascendancy book when Ar’alani helps Thrawn out of his cheating scandal and to celebrate he brings her to an art museum but of course he doesn’t call it an art museum and instead tells her they are going to a place full of “mystery, intrigue, and drama” or something like that and then Ar’alani pulls up to the art museum and is like… “this little bitch.”

My favorite part of all of this though is the fact that Thrawn seems confused as to why she would ever be disappointed, like the art museum should have exceeded her wildest expectations. 😭 I just think about it a lot because it’s just the perfect way for Zahn to really give us a good look at Thrawn’s personality when he’s not in high stress situations.
