Composers Korean Joseon dynasty AU, Romantics.
Mendelssohn- Department of the Royal Portrait : artists in this department was solely responsible for painting accurate portraits of the royal family, as artists were usually not allowed to paint the king’s face as a rule. Mendelssohn was a artist himself, and his paintings suggest a very good understanding of art.
Liszt- Department of Music for the Jongmyo Shrine: this department was responsible for the music used in the Jongmyo Jaesa. Jaesa is a ritual performed in many powerful families in Joseon to thank their ancestors. The Jongmyo Jaesa is performed for the royal family’s ancestors, so it was very important to perform the music correctly and also beautifully.
Chopin- a schollar. Schollars studied books and poems. It was mostly schollars who took the test to become a courtier, which consisted of composing and decoding phrases of poems or books.
Berlioz- a royal doctor. The doctors were in charge of giving prescriptions for oriental medicine. They sometimes were even in charge of the king’s diet, if his health should be less than good. They also taught medical maids, who did all the dull or dirty works and also diagnosed female patients.
Now that I post this a few mistakes catch my eye... like how all the hats should have straps, and not only two. And I forgot to put in some shadows. Aaand I hope they looked more like squatting, not kneeling or as if they have very short legs... so maybe I’ll edit it later
