I think it's weird how some people are so desperate to find their "true love." They want someone who is caring, charming, loving, friendly and all these wonderful things. In their head, they have created and molded this idyllic person and then they go out looking for that person. To me, that is the exact recipe for a disaster. They end up missing out on these great opportunities because they have this unrealistic character in their head. Someone who doesn't even exist. I'm not saying people should lower their standards but they should have realistic standards. In my opinion, I'm pretty sure the people who set these bars wouldn't even be able to live up to their own standards.
Instead of creating this perfect person in your head. I believe individuals should work on their own character. They should try to become the person they would like to date. Instead of searching for that girl who is kind and loving or searching for that guy who hasn't let chivalry die, be that person. In the end, if you are the person that strives to better yourself, the same person will be drawn to you. This allows for a relationship where both individuals have the opportunity to better each other and eventually grow into one.
