This needs to be talked about, and there's heavy topics mentioned. I'll try and tag things accordingly but this has to be talked about. It's making me super uncomfortable and so I'm gonna put it bluntly.
So we need to talk about Linkbeck.
"Link is a character we're meant to project onto."
Yes, but even so, the games are catered towards children. It's not that hard to get through your head that Link is a fucking child in these games, and even if you're not a child playing this game and you can slap whatever name on him you want including you're own name - that is not an excuse.
1. If you wanna ship yourself with Linebeck, then fucking do it. Insert yourself. Like. Put yourself. Or an oc. Not project through Link. Who is a 12 year old.
2. You fuckers know what you're doing when you draw ship art of them - 90% of it I have seen is Linebeck blatantly forcing himself onto Link and Link not liking it. Like you clearly are trying to imply Linebeck is r*ping him, because he's aware he's a child. You're blatantly fetishizing Link, and projecting your own pedophilic ideas onto Linebeck. And it's fucking disgusting.
Don't say you enjoy their dynamic. Don't say it's because of their interactions. Don't say that you're just projecting and that Link is supposed to be you.
You know what you're fucking doing and you're disgusting. And I fucking hate you.
It's gross that that's 90% of what Linebeck fanart there is, is just him and Link in weirdly sexual scenarios. They're usually buried into the bad realm of the internet, so I assumed it was just a horrible period of time that already came and went.
But based on the ask I just got, ppl still like to do that. Trolling or not. It's fucking gross.

This shouldn't be an issue. Especially for a niche fandom.
