The King’s bastard
This is my first attempt at writing something here. Hopefully you like it. I think it's a bit all over the place but that's ok. And i haven't read over it so it is unedited
Summary
On one of Aegon’s adventures to the streets of silk he stumbles across his bastard sister that no one knew existed.
Side note
Aegon is very OOC in this, and it takes place in between Leana’s funeral and the Driftmark succession petition.
Aegon often took excursions outside of the castle walls to the streets of silk, seeking out the pleasures of the whores. On this day he ran into a bit of trouble when one of the kingsguard that his mother often sent out to find him had spotted him. So now he was trying to get away from them which being drunk while doing so proved difficult. He had just turned a corner when he saw a shabby looking whore house so he took the chance and ducked inside, closing the door behind him hoping the kingsguard would think it too low for his standards. With his back to the door he listened to the guards armour clang as they ran, after he was certain they were gone he turned to look at the place he had entered. To his surprise the interior of the building wasn’t as bad as the outside was, with silk curtains hanging in the doorways with clasps made of gold holding them open, as he walked further in he saw golden goblets sitting on tables outside of each door presumably for the guests to drink from. What confused him the most was the lack of noise, it was a whore house but where were the whores. As he was walking further down the hall out of one of the rooms came a girl and in his confused state he ran into her.
“Oh, hello” the girl said in surprise when she looked up at him.
“Im sorry sir, but we’re closed today”
As she took a closer look and the man in front of her she took in his features, his silver hair and violet eyes. As she was looking at him she realised he must be one of the Targaryen princes.
“Im sorry my prince, i didn't realise it was you” she exclaimed as she bowed down to him. Aegon was stunned as he looked at the girl for she looked exactly like him from her hair to her eyes even the shape of her nose was the same.
“ Why, may I ask, are you here for my prince?” she questioned. Her words broke him out of his haze.
“ I was hiding from my guards,” Aegon responded.
“Are you a bastard?” he couldn’t help but ask.
“That was very rude of you to ask that” the girl huffed. It was only then he realised what he said.
“ I'm sorry, it's just you have Targaryen hair and eyes, '' he explained.
“ I never knew my parents, your grace” she started to explain. “My mother died on the birthing bed and my father was never in the picture, so to answer your graces question, i don’t know if im a bastard”
“What's your name?” he asked
“My names is Rhaella, your grace” she answered
“ That's a Targaryen name,” he thought out loud.
“I think your my fathers bastard”
“Your father as in his grace the king?” Rhaella questioned, perplexed.
“ Yes,” Aegon answered. Rhaella stood for a minute trying to process what she just heard.
“ Would you like a drink, your grace?” she asked him when she came out of her daze.
“Sure” Aegon answered. After she poured him a drink they sat and talked for a while until they heard the main door open.
“ Oh no, that's the Dame, she's going to be so angry with me if she finds out I let someone in while she was away” Rhaella started to panic.
“I'm sorry my prince, but you have to leave now or I'll be in so much trouble,” she told Aegon.
“Quickly this way, you'll have to go through the back door”. As they exited through the door Aegon grabbed Rhaella’s hand to stop her.
“Will I see you again, my lady? He questioned
“I don't know your grace, if you come back on the last day of each month, that's the only day the Dame and the girls are gone” she explained.
“Ok, then I'll see you in a month,” he said as he kissed her hand. Rhealla watched as the prince disappeared into the crowded streets of flea-bottom.
“Rhaella, I’m home” she heard the Dame shout inside. She rushed back into the main entrance to greet her carer.
“Welcome home, mama”
“How was your day sweet girl?” the Dame asked her.
“It was alright” she answered.
“That's good, anything happen while i was gone” she questioned
“No, nothing happened, I was just reading in my room,” Rhaella explained.
“I heard Prince Aegon was spotted in the area today” the Dame informed.
“Really, what's he doing so far from the castle?” she questioned.
“ only the gods know, anyway i'm going to go start on dinner, ok?” she told Rhaella. And with that she walked off to the kitchen while Rhaella headed off to her bedroom with the events of the day on her mind.
