hey btw, just wanted to say I'm the anon who asked about your art style and then sent the follow up apologizing once i realized it was inspired by another style, cause the first ask was a bit of a passive aggressive way of wondering if you were posting things uncredited. obviously you weren't, and honestly it was a bit catty of me to suggest it like that, but i wanted to say that legitimately all of your stuff is so wonderful and you are one of the best and most lovely artists in the community. 🚨 — Hey!

I want to address something really quick!

Recently I was studying @tokillaking13 ’s artstyle, and you may have seen my fanart floating around in my blog (I’ve taken them down since), until I was informed that my use of the style inspiration— including how i poorly handled crediting/comments across platforms— has caused concerns for art theft!

Rest assured that is NOT my intention at all. I’ve been a victim of a form of art theft myself, and am well-aware of how upsetting it can be 🫩

I’ve since apologised, reached out privately with the original artist, and have WILLINGLY CHOSEN MYSELF to take down the pieces across my posting platforms. The only 5 left remaining are all left in twitter and been credited accordingly as per the artist’s request in our DM’ed conversation.

Sincerest apologies to @tokillaking13 for this whole situation, & to any fandoms caught in this mess! 💔

That being said: STOP sending hate. Both of us are receiving anons that are honestly just beating a dead horse at this point. The situation has been cordially resolved between us, let’s all go back to supporting one another please!

Tldr; I fucked up, paid the due price, took accountability, learned my lesson. Also, stop sending hostile messages to us?

Very much appreciate you reaching out to tokillaking, however they're now getting some real vitriol from people who are likely fans of yours -- perhaps making a statement asking people to take the temperature down? It's all getting very ugly, and as someone in the akotsk fandom I'd rather not have this sort of thing festering

except you're both "copying" age old styles of artists of the past? not to mention the whole continent that is stencil art?

and who exactly am i copying, anon? care to name a specific artist? everyone who saw my drawing before theirs can tell who's the original and who's not. am not COPYING anyone. i created my own original style out of everything that "artist of the past" gave us. out of a sea of all the different techniques and strokes and details, i created something of my own that you can't just put your finger on, while those who just take one person and copy everything didn't

why does your art style vary so much?

Experimentation! I can see why the inconsistencies might raise some flags though.

But I’d say I’m definitely more an illustrative artist at heart (animated, spiderverse-esque) and less on semi-realism or realism entirely. On one hand it’s common to the evolution of most artists— I started traditionally on paper and watercolour until I moved digitally where I eventually developed a myriad of styles.

Couple that with influences of the time and subject intent in general, approaches can vary and change the style of the piece even by simply changing the brush type alone! 🤞🏼

Let me clarify that I do not steal NOR repost artwork! I’m an artist who’s dealt with my stuff being stolen before and am in NO way ever wanting to put any other artist through that kind of horrible situation 💔

That being said please be careful in accusations because they might blow up in everyone’s faces 🫩😭 However I do take full responsibility of the entire situation— I personally should have credited @tokillaking13 more properly to clarify to other viewers so that this would’ve never happened in the first place!
