How would you feel if your hero came out as gay? Bex Taylor-Klaus. My amazingly gay hero. You may know her from these shows Scream TV, The Killing, and Voltron (a Netflix Original). She’s a big inspiration to me and many others. Bex Taylor-Klaus is a hero based on her early life, coming out as gay, and helping with the LGBTQ+ community.
First Bex T-K is a hero based on her early life. “I wanted to be a forensic scientist when I was younger. For a long time, I was studying because I wanted to do that sort of stuff’(Taylor-Klaus). When Bex was young she wanted to be a scientist. But in 3rd grade began her interest in acting at an after school acting program (IMDB). As she got older, she and her friends started a program to train young actors (IMDB). At the age of 19 she played her first character on the TV show “The Killing” on AMC and Netflix. And her first character was named Bullet a lesbian who was on the 3rd season of the show (IMDB). So clearly Taylor-Klaus has been an inspiration since birth.
Secondly Bex is a hero for coming out as gay. “Everyone has secrets, and everyone tells lies” (Taylor-Klaus), For Bex that is true. She has been hiding that she was gay. But on Nov. of 2016 she came out gay using Twitter “Hello my name is Bex and the yes the rumors are true I am v gay” (Twitter). Its is brave for an upcoming actress to come out. Especially when she was at the peak of her career. All of her fellow coworkers, fans, and friends supported her, a lot when she did come out. And she is getting bigger and bigger with her acting career. Speaking of her acting. She is also a genderfluid actress, and is very proud of that (IMDB). A genderfluid actress is where she can play a girl or boy character when acting. And all of her fans still stand behind her. Therefore Bex T-K did a heroic act by coming out.
Lastly Bex Taylor-Klaus is a hero because she helps out with the LGBTQ+ community. “Thats what we do darling. We create life. We create life and play out the life as is deemed to fit. And when are through playing we sent it back into nothing. We are the glorious monsters whom young ones idolise. We are Gods to some, devils to others. We are the broken and bent, the scarred and the mending. We are the actors and we have a gift” (Taylor-Klaus). And Bex does have a gift. She’s brave, caring, inspiring, and most of all supportive. She’s super involved in the LGBTQ+ community (SnapChat,Twitter,Tumblr). She went to the womans march in Jan. (SnapChat and Twitter). She shows us we can do anything we set our mind to. She is one of the well known lesbian actors. And she’s big on equal rights. She calls us her family. She’s my hero and many others for what she has done. To conclude Rebecca Taylor-Klaus is a hero to all the LGBTQ+ community.
Overall you can see Bex Taylor-Klaus is a hero based on her early life, by coming out as gay, and helping out with the LGBTQ+ community. So I have shown you how Bex is a hero. And to me and many others it’s true. She helped out others looking to learn to act when she was in school. Also Bex came out as gay or lesbian to the whole world. And to me that’s a big deal for an actress who’s becoming big. But most of all she helps out with one of the most misunderstood communities. Bex fights for equal rights we all deserve. And if that doesn’t make a hero I don’t know what does. She’s my hero because she tells me it’s ok to be different, and that makes me happy.
Dear Bex, I am Maggie. So, we had to pick our hero for a school project, and I chose you. That’s because I literally look up to you so much. I adored you in arrow, the killing, and scream. You are so lucky you came out. I can’t because my parents. But I just wanted to know I love you a lot. I know you hear this a lot but it’s true. -Starz @bext-k
