In 1944 a kitten named George (short for General Electric) was saved from drowning by a U.S. Navy crew member. George was then photographed and given a liberty card and detailed health record. Source.

"Way too reliable narrator" where the narrator provides documentation and proof for how they know every detail in the narrative and an estimate of how confident they are in it.
Suspiciously Specific Narrator
I'm back to Tumblr and this place looks weird as shit now lol
Hello I’m here to talk about an opinion that isn’t so much unpopular because people don’t like it, but because it is splitting hairs and basically an argument based in semantics that sane people reasonably do not waste their time caring about it.
I am neither sane nor reasonable and therefore think about this a lot, and get ready to pull out a soapbox and type the Text Wall of China any time I hear people offhandedly contradict this opinion, and so I have come here today to die on this molehill, and write the over-long post of my dreams, because fuck it, it’s my blog.
Drumroll please:
Sauron is not The Lord of the Rings
The Lord of the Rings is the main antagonist though, so furthermore,
Sauron is not the main antagonist of The Lord of the Rings
I internally go insane every time someone says “Sauron, the eponymous Lord of the Rings” or “The antagonist never actually appears in Lord of the Rings” or uses Lord of the Rings as an penultimate example of having a flat ‘evil for evil’s sake’ villain. This is mostly in YouTube videos so I’m not calling out anyone here.
So who is the Lord of the Rings? Where do I get this shit? Why should anyone care?
I will tell you in far too much detail under this cut, because I told you I was gonna be extra about it and this is already long enough to inflict on my followers without their consent.
Oh my god
You're right and you should say it
Hot Take: We are actually living in a “gasoline punk” alternate universe, where technology continued to develop along the lines of hydrocarbon combustion, even though nuclear energy has been available for decades.
Well that explains the comically exaggerated, dystopian nightmare setting that appears to be a very badly concealed metaphor about oppression. Someone tell the sixteen year old writing me that they don’t have to kill off every cool character.
can they also please tell that sixteen year old that i want a boyfriend and will settle for a half angel, half demon
i never realized cuneiform was made with the corner of a cuboid tool, i thought the wedge shapes were carved such that you would press straight down with the tool at a 90° angle to the clay
Wow! My mind is super into this new information
This is a very powerful image.

Thanks digimonwiki for being so on top of these things, also this is more cringeworthy than I even imagined
A lot of people asked what this was or thought it was a joke edit because they didn’t scroll down to the multiple posts I’d already made about it so basically the guy who wrote Digimon Tamers (as well as Hellsing, Big O, Serial Experiments Lain and several more) has become a fanatical believer in specifically American conspiracy theories, like he thinks Trump really won the election and 9/11 was an inside job and that our covid vaccines carry government microchips, all of which he thinks are truths being silenced by “political correctness” somehow, so when he wrote a sequel story to the Digimon Tamers series and had people read it live on-stage at a convention, he injected this new battle scene I guess thinking he was sneaking a brave message under the radar of tyranny.
Since his sequel story is being included as bonus material with a Digimon Tamers blu-ray release, fans are left arguing whether Political Correctness is an actual canon Digimon villain

the one addition that truly makes this clip even more powerful is knowing that Mr Sterling is this guy:
I am in awe trying to imagine the sheer levels of non sequiturs they would be able to produce together.

No...
I thought I could figure out the referent, but no. I can’t. Which murdered British boys? Someone go back and ask that elderly neighbor or I’ll never be able to sleep again.
King Edward V of England and Richard of Shrewsbury, Duke of York! They were murdered by their uncle!
She... she does
