We are saddened to be the victim of a theft on Main Street. On Saturday someone in our community felt the need to steal one of the poles from our sign on the sidewalk. The disappointment of stealing aside, we are a #nonprofit #bookshop run entirely by volunteers as a fundraiser. We do not have funds to do much in the way of advertising and these banners are not cheap or easy/fast to get -- our director purchased it out of her own pocket to help boost our visibility and in reaching out to the manufacturer we would have to order a whole new flag. Please, if anyone has any information, or a spare pole so our sign can be visible once more. Shame on whoever took the time to steal only part of this, which cannot benefit you alone, in a town with NO #indepenentbookstore . We've had folks asking about our #consignment system. Here are a few answers to frequent questions! -WHAT KIND OF #books DO YOU TAKE? We'll accept ANY kind of book for donation, and most books for store credit. For consignment, you MUST be an educator or patron member to have books considered. We accept #curriculum #rarebooks or #uniquebooks and book items. We are not presently offering consignment for traditionally published reading books even though they may be used for teaching (ie, school reading list books). We also reserve the right to reject curriculum that is outdated or overstocked. -HOW DOES IT WORK? Clean out your books, bundle sets and set your pricing. We offer a 70/30 split for consignment sales, so price accordingly to recoup expense but also do not exceed the cover price unless a collector's edition. Check your curriculum publisher or Amazon for current market value. When you drop off items our volunteer team will create a unique item code for your books or manipulatives to track the sale. Your inventory is available to view online at any time for tracking. -WHEN DO I GET PAID? We close accounts the final day of each month and cut checks on the 7th. Items remain in consignment for 3 months, and you can chose to renew, pick up or donate items at the end of that term. -HOW CAN I GET MY BOOKS ON YOUR SHELVES? Make an appointment so we can set aside time to label and log! We usually have books on the shelf ready to sell within a few hours of drop off.
