2007's The Invasion is the most recent adaptation of The Body Snatchers and also my least favorite. Where it outdoes the other adaptations is in the grey knitwear department, however. Lots of knits, especially for Nicole Kidman's character.

The Taking of Deborah Logan features its title character in a grey cardigan
Helen Hunt wears several grey pieces of knitwear in I See You. Bonus points for the classic wrapping-your-sweater-around-yourself move, a staple of movies where women investigate strange things happening in their homes.
The original Speak No Evil from 2022 has a grey cardigan featured in a scene with very warm lighting that almost makes it seem beige.
I recently rewatched From Beyond and spotted this grey sweater on absolute legend Jeffrey Combs. A fairly mundane sweater in a movie that is anything but.
Time for a new focus on this blog! Rather than highlighting grey knits, it's all about the generic sports jersey shirts that were oh-so-popular in 1980s horror movies!
The first time I noticed these shirts was in A Nightmare on Elm Street and what feels like a callback in Scream.
Sporty but generic shirts are also perfect summer camp attire, as seen in Friday the 13th and Friday the 13th Part II.
1983's The Prey even gives us two jersey-style shirts in one shot!
We also see some sports jersey inspired nightwear in Poltergeist and Slumber Party Massacre.
April Fools' Day!
No, this blog is going to remain commited to grey knitwear, but for April Fools' Day I thought it'd be fun to look at another horror movie costuming choice I keep running into.
Flashback - Mörderische Ferien (2000) is one of many teen-focused slashers that followed in the wake of Scream, albeit a German one. It's not very good, but seeing the tropes of the genre play out in the alpine setting is rather fun.
Freddy vs. Jason brings us the last grey sweater in the Friday the 13th series.
Not a lot of grey knits in the Friday the 13th series, so the next post takes us all the way to part 8, Jason Takes Manhattan. Well, it's more like Jason Takes A Ship That Eventually Ends Up In Manhattan, but I do love this silly movie.
Happy Friday the 13th!
There isn't a lot of grey knitwear in the Friday the 13th movies, which makes sense given the colorful 80's look and less-than-somber tone most of these movies have. Still, I'd like to feature the few grey pieces in this series, starting with Vickie, who wears this grey-and-pink v-neck sweater.
I feel bad for Vickie and Mark, their budding romance cut short by Jason's machete.
Scream 4 (or Scre4m, if you must) has at least two instances of grey knitwear - a cowl neck sweater on Marnie and an ombre cardigan on Kirby.
With Scream 7 releasing today I felt inspired to look back at the franchise's grey knitwear. I completly misrembered Sidney's grey sweater as a sweatshirt, but no, that's just a baggy sweater.
Longlegs from 2024 features several grey sweaters, but I was almost too engrossed in the movie to spot them.
The Twin from 2022 is set in Finland and deals with the loss of a child, so the many grey sweaters on display make perfect sense as a somber and practical costuming choice. Unfortunately I couldn't find good screencaps of most of the sweaters, so here's a brief shot from the trailer.
The Omen IV - The Awakening, far from my favorite Omen movie, features this cozy grey sweater worn under a denim jacket.
2024's Imaginary features this textured grey cardigan.
I recently watched Megan 2.0, which didn't take the series in the direction I had hoped for - I prefer my killer doll movies with more of a slasher vibe vs. the superhero fare we got. Where the movie did not disappoint was in the sweater department - lots and lots of grey knitwear, especially on Gemma.
