Here are some of my pre-reveal hcs for them!!
Sam was never a fan of Quinn’s “romantic lifestyle” and how she frequently brought guys back to the apartment. When Quinn brought home a really rude or creepy guy or anyone who tried anything she didn’t want, Sam was there to threaten them with a taser
And then she’d claim “you’re my roommate I’m just looking out for you. Don’t make a big deal of it”
AND BOOM Quinn fell first because she isn’t used to having people protect her because they genuinely care about her wellbeing
But instead of realizing “wow Sam’s looking out for me and maybe I should stop bringing people she hates to our apartment” Quinn was like “bringing suspicious people home = Sam protecting me…let’s do that one!”
At some point, Sam loses it and is like “QUINN AS LONG AS WE ARE ROOMMATES YOU CANT JUST KEEP BRINGING PEOPLE HOME. ITS MY APARTMENT TOO, WHY DONT YOU HAVE SOME FUCKING CONSIDERATION FOR ONCE”
And Quinn’s like “why the fuck do you care you don’t need to protect me from my romantic ventures Sam I never asked you to do that”
And Sam sort of realizes that not only does she just dislike Quinn’s taste in who to bring home, but she also wants Quinn to stop because she doesn’t want to see her get hurt and she maaaay have a crush
And then uhhh idk they probably makeout or something
Other hcs…
Tara is always saying “get a room” when she walks in on them kissing, and Quinn is like “we would but the walls here are thin so you’d hear us and complain anyway”
Quinn has definitely yapped to Ethan about “oh my lawwwwd bro Sam is so hot have you seen those biceps. Do we really have to kill her she’s so hot :(“
Who is a character you wish had been Ghostface in the canon?
Tara Carpenter. I may get heat for this but I’m absolutely pro Ghostface Tara and Ghostface Tamber. I think not only would Ghostface Tamber have let us enjoy evil Ghostface lesbians but also would have aligned with the canon. Sam abandoning Tara creates the perfect window for Tara’s resentment and since the attack on Tara is so brutal we wouldn’t suspect her, much less suspect her of hunting her own sister. I absolutely would have loved Ghostface Tara, Ghostface Tamber, or Ghostface Carpenter sisters!!

It has Skeet Ulrich and Matthew Lillard's seal of approval! The whole final act is ridiculous in the best way. They reveal they’ve been doing the killings together, they’re finishing each other’s thoughts, they’re getting way too excited about the plan, and then they start stabbing each other as part of the cover story. Stu is bleeding out and still looking to Billy like, hey, how are we doing? Billy is the one with the revenge motive, but Stu is right there committing fully to the entire thing. Stu feels like someone who would follow Billy anywhere, partly because he thinks it’s fun and partly because Billy clearly has a hold on him. Billy is colder and more controlled, but he still chooses Stu as the person beside him for the whole plan. It’s awful, but it’s also very compelling. The queer reading has been sitting there for decades. The actors enjoy it. Fans see it. Just let the original Ghostface murder boyfriends be exactly what they already look like.

Hmmm I really like Billy and Stu’s death sequences, they are the originals and I think their deaths are very unique (ESPECIALLY STUS OMG. The tv?! Duuuude). Aside from that I love how Amber genuinely just went I’m Not Going Down That Easy and then went through like fire and bullets and glass shards and all that jazz (Chicago ref :0) before she died, girl was very intent on coming back a million times. ALSO I like Jill’s sequence in the hospital a ton, I rewatch the ending of Scream 4 a lot! I think that whole scene with her and Sidney fighting in the ICU + what happens after it is AMAZING.
Small rant since I’ve been so frustrated with the Scream 5 we got ever since I learned what we could’ve had…

SCREAM 5, OPTION 1: Scream 4 continued
Based on the original script ending to Scream 4: Jill doesn’t say anything about matching wounds (or she does but Dewey and Gale don’t flag it, ig), Sidney lives but she has amnesia, Jill gets famous and gets away with it
The initial idea for Scream 5 was to have Jill as the main character. A new Ghostface would’ve been attacking her, and they would’ve known her role in the 2011/Scream 4 massacre: a Ghostface vs Ghostface type of film
I really wanted to see something like this! The Ghostfaces dying every movie gets slightly boring (even just putting some of them in prison or an asylum would be a great switch up), and Jill was soooo close. Scream 5 being a continuation of Scream 4 would have been amazing
Also, having a scene where Kirby Sidney Gale Dewey etc all learn that Jill was a Ghostface in Scream 4? The angst and betrayal would have been AMAZING. Plus then there would be the dilemma of helping her survive the new killer or letting her die for her crimes…and more like that

SCREAM 5, OPTION 2: Tamber canon
Okay obviously I’m gonna vouch for canon Tamber
BUT it would have made so much more sense. Honestly, I would’ve been fine with having Richie as just a close friend of Sam’s and not a boyfriend, and Amber as Tara’s girlfriend instead, if the issue with having Tamber + RichieSam was that “both of the MC’s lovers being the Ghostface would’ve been too predictable”
Why? Well, first off, the boyfriend angle with Sam was just. So repeat of Scream 1. I don’t think we’ve ever had “the girlfriend” as a Ghostface archetype, so Amber as Ghostface if Tamber was canon would have been fresher than Ghostface Richie imo
PLUS it would have made for some delicious angst…yum yum yummy Tamber angst. Especially if Amber was doing it all for Tara, in a twisted way
Also they basically already seem like a couple in the film, might as well make it canon

SCREAM 5, OPTION 3: Ghostface Tamber
I will always yearn for Ghostface Tamber, because it could have been incredible
The potential was there, plus I do think that Tara forgave Sam for abandoning her WAYYY too quickly in the canon
Ghostface Tamber would work like this: Tara and Amber are dating, and they basically want to punish Sam for leaving Tara (Tara, because she was abandoned; Amber, because she loves Tara and hates Sam for leaving her gf), so they stage Tara’s attack and do everything after that to torture Sam
This could have worked largely the same as the canon movie and timeline did, the only change would be that when Tara gets tied up in the closet in Act 3, it would be to bait Sam. When Sam comes to untie her, Tara would stab her or something
TAMBER EVIL LESBIANS COULD HAVE THE BEST MONOLOGUES AS GHOSTFACES TOGETHER. ESPECIALLY post reveal, Tara could say something about how Ambers the only one that never left her, unlike how Sam did

SCREAM 5, OPTION 4: Richie as the “solo killer” (but if you then you GOTTA do Scream 6 option 1, Amber as the carry-over killer)
Richie as the “solo killer” is in quotes because basically, Amber would be his partner, but she’s never revealed
Richie shoots Liv, Amber plays victim and helps the Carpenter sisters + Gale + Sid survive Richie
Firstly, this would’ve been nice because the two killer pattern is hardly ever broken before Scream 5, so it would be a shock
Secondly, this would create so much potential for Scream 6…

SCREAM 6, OPTION 1: Amber as the “carry-over killer”
Okay so continuing the Richie as the “solo killer” idea, if Amber was never revealed in Scream 5 and continued to be in the cast in Scream 6 that would allow several things to happen:
One, we would be able to connect more with Amber’s character. Seeing her survive Scream 5 like the rest of the Core Four would make us more invested in her and give her more screen time
Two, it would make the delayed reveal that Amber was helping Richie even more painful
Three, hopefully Tamber would’ve happened in Scream 6, then, to make it sting even MORE (but it wouldn’t be required I GUESS…)
Det. Bailey still could’ve been Ghostface, same with Quinn. But if Amber had survived and was a part of the friend group still, she could sorta fill Ethan’s role in the film, so we wouldn’t really need him
Amber works with Richie’s family to avenge him and finish what they started, basically. All that delaying AmberMs reveal would do is make her eventual reveal hurt more and let us have a Ghostface with hopefully a LOT of screentime

SCREAM 6, OPTION 2: Killer Kirby or Sam
This one is basically just because I love Kirby and I’d really enjoy an arc in Scream where one of the traumatized survivors snapped due to what they saw and the betrayals they faced
(Small note: I’m not really a fan of retcons, but uuuuugh I yearn for Jill and Kirby as Ghostface together…)
Killer Sam could fill this role too: a protagonist broken by what they’ve faced turning to the darkside
I think the original plan for Scream 7 was to have Sam succumb to her dark instants as well? So like doing it in 6 would be fine, I think
If Sam was the killer, I have to believe that she would’ve found out about Det. Bailey, Quinn, and Ethan being Richie’s family and a big part of her motive would be to kill them for simply being linked to Richie, who hurt her and her sister, or she tried to hurt them before they came after her and Tara
