Littles getting home from a long day of school, dropping their backpacks and taking off their shoes, headspace already creeping up on them. They’ve been fighting it off almost all day, and they just want their caregiver.
luckily, they know exactly what they need. The little doesn’t know how, but their caregiver always knows when their kiddo needs a day to be little. Call it magic, call it observation skills, whatever you want. But right now, they don’t care.
The caregiver is sitting on the couch, soft blankets piled over the cushions, holding out a TV remote to their baby.
“hey buddy. Wanna watch some TV?”
a completely innocent sounding question, but the little immediately crawls onto the couch. Theyre slipping fast. Their caregiver sees it and smiles, happy to take care of them as always.
the little end up spending a few hours like this. Watching cartoons or documentaries or whatever they decided to watch, blankets draped over them, a mug, sippy cup, or baby bottle on the coffee table.
the homework can wait a little more, right?
Their caregiver is petting their hair, treating them so nice and soft. They’re exhausted from school, the past few weeks, everything.
they fall asleep eventually, their caregiver slipping them a pacifier as they doze off. They wake up to see that their favorite stuffie had been put in their arms in their sleep.
