Old Hollywood Glam

Greensville High School Prom 2016

This year, the theme is “Old Hollywood Glam” and whether you’re going stag, with friends, or have a date we hope that you seize the chance to make it a night to remember. Prom is one of the most memorable experiences of any teenager, so be sure not to miss it!

QUEEN AND KING NOMINATIONS

To nominate a student for Prom Queen or King, send their full name here. Anybody can nominate a student, but only seniors may be nominated for Prom Royalty. You may nominate yourself. The candidates will be posted on the 13th. They will have from the 13th until the 17th to advertise and campaign. Voting will be on Saturday and the winners will be announced Sunday.

GREENSVILLE HIGH SCHOOL PROM

The date for Prom is officially Friday, June 17th. This event will be considered one night in the RP world, but one full weekend in real time. The entire event will run from FRIDAY, JUNE 17TH until SUNDAY, JUNE 19TH. We will make a post to signal the start and end of the event.

Feel free to make use of this event and start chats, paras, chatzys, gif convos, etc. based on the topic! Even your promposals, getting ready, going shopping, can all be written out. We encourage it! If you have any questions about prom nominations or the event, please feel free to ask.

DAD – He’s a quiet ghost who, in his urn, is Don’s passenger on his journey. Flashbacks show him as Dad the teacher, planning the family vacations around every educational and historical highlight of the American road. He never bought into the fun -- more commercial – attractions along the way, which left the kids begging to stop at “Ghost Caverns” and motels with a pool! He was the ultimate father; the loving boss of the family.

DON – Successful Boston reporter – too busy to attend his father’s funeral three years ago. Must also play young Don in flashbacks – whiny, complaining, and antagonizing his big sister in the back seat of the car, as children have done since the dawn of the automotive age. He is the driver of the play in a gentle inviting way. SIS -- Don’s older sister, past and present. In flashbacks, “Sweet Pea”, as Dad called her, is the typical big sister – overbearing, teasing, sneaky – always baiting Don until he struck back and got blamed for causing the ruckus. The two were always united in their efforts to influence Dad on the vacation plans. In present day, Sis is controlling, somewhat critical, but obviously loves her family. 

MOM – Don’s mom past and present. In flashbacks, always there – the ever-calming influence on Dad and the kids – the ultimate peacemaker on these family road trips – to a point. Currently, still “mothering”, but becoming a little flighty as she ages. Mom feels very guilty for having left Dad in his urn forgotten in the basement for the last three years.

LEAVING IOWA || Performance Dates: December 10th & 11th. 

The critically-acclaimed play, “Leaving Iowa,” by Tim Clue and Spike Manton is a hilarious, family-friendly comedy that is a toast to the idealism and character of parents from the “greatest generation,” and a little roast of their dedication to the family road trip.

PLEASE MESSAGE US TO LET US KNOW IF YOUR CHARACTER WILL BE PARTICIPATING IN THE PLAY (THIS INCLUDES STAGE CREW), BY SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 22ND. CAST LIST WILL BE POSTED MONDAY.

2015 HOMECOMING DANCE

Where: Greensville High School Gymnesium  Who: All High School Students!  When: Saturday October 24th, 2015

This event will be considered one night in the RP world, but players can begin posting about it, on the dash, on Friday and continue until Sunday night. 

There will be a chatzy/neatchat on Saturday.

HOMECOMING DRESS UP DAYS

Monday: Get Up & Go (throw on the first thing you find) 

Tuesday: Dynamic Duo Day (students come dressed as their favorite duos from books, movies, TV shows, and even real life)

Wednesday: Nerd Day

Thursday: Heroes vs. Villans

Friday: School Spirit! (Show your school spirit. Remember school colors are Purple & Black. School mascot is the Dragon. 

There will be a pep rally the last hour of school, on Friday, and a parade right after that! The homecoming game will be Friday night. The homecoming dance will take place on Saturday, but will go from Friday night to Sunday for roleplaying. The theme will be announced later this week.
