Cynthia, Sinnoh, and Spiritomb

Ah, the Sinnoh region. One of the oldest regions to survive the sands of time. A region with a rich history dominated by faith, being able to boast the proud title of the Home of Arceus.
But forget about all that, there’s ghosts to catch!
Lori was making her way though Celestic Town, a look of excitement and determination shining in her eyes. The woman was far too distracted to do so much as to glance around her and take in the history of her surroundings. Nope, didn’t matter. She had to find a ghost.
Not just any ghost; a shiny Spiritomb. The Vazza Trainer had spent years trying to find one of those blue and purple beauties, but to seemingly no avail. The last time she came to Sinnoh for her hunt, she ended up with a Shiny Snorunt instead. Not that she was complaining.
Lori took a moment to pause, snapping back to reality and realizing that oh dear god she had no idea where she was. She must’ve been so hyper focused on her task that she wasn’t paying attention to where she was going! After taking a few confused looks around her, she scratched the top of her head in frustration.
“Gah, I need to get my head outta the clouds…I don’t know this region well enough to just waltz around! Great, now where am I?”
Lori approached the champion with a smile and a nod. “That’s right! My name’s Lori, and I’m actually the current champion of the Vazza region! Maybe you’ve heard of it? We’re east of Unova and west of Galar, kiiiiinda hanging out in the middle somewhere.”
While Cynthia’s tone held that of a nurturer, Lori’s was that of a peppy valley school girl. Despite the gloom and doom energy given off by her appearance and team, the young woman was more excitable than a Skitty.
She held out a hand to the other. “It’s so amazing to meet you, I’ve always thought you and your team were so cool! Especially your Spiritomb. I’m actually in the region to try and find myself a shiny one!”

“Gah, I need to get my head outta the clouds...I don’t know this region well enough to just waltz around! Great, now where am I?”
Cynthia was practically skipping, doing a little dance, walking with a pep in her step, even doing a twirl! She’d just left her Grandmother’s house, having dropped off the twins so they could spend the weekend with her, leaving her with complete peace for the first time in nearly five years.
She’d been looking forward to this weekend for weeks, ever since her Grandmother suggested it. Finally, a chance to reconnect with her beloved, catch up on some sleep, and be lazy! She’d gotten on to Garchomp’s back, the Dragon taking off over the Celestic Town woods...
The second the house was out of sight, however... She was ready to cry. She already missed her twin terrors! This was a horrible idea! Why had she ever allowed anyone to convince her of-
No. No, be strong Cynthia, you’ve earned this. They’re with grandma, they’re fine. You’ll have them back in two days and pray for another chance like this.
She’d kept flying, indeed keeping herself composed. It was going to be a nice weekend! It’d be fun!
As they flew, however, Cynthia would spot something; her vision focusing like a laser- Fresh sitrus berries!
Garchomp would land, and Cynthia would immediately go to work picking several of the wild fruit. She’d sink her teeth into one, its sweet juice flowing freely and messily over her lips and chin, and she’d giggle in delight. What a perfect treat to start her weekend! She’d have to take some home to-
“Gah, I need to get my head outta the clouds…I don’t know this region well enough to just waltz around! Great, now where am I?”
The Champion heard the lamenting of the hex maniac, and her brow quirked. Her maternal instincts kicking in as she saw the young woman wandering aimlessly through the woods. Garchomp would let out a grunt of confusion, Cynthia would quickly use a wipe from her bag to clean her mouth- thank Arceus for mom utensils- before waving;
“Hello! Excuse me, are you lost?”
“Hmm...Maybe I should try to retrace my steps and—Hm?” Lori zoned back in and lifted her head in an attempt to find out who called out. Oh, thank goodness, this would make her life so much easier. All she had to do is politely ask for directions and oh my goodness that’s Cynthia.
Such grace. Such elegance. It was as if the hex maniac was in the presence of a goddess! The way the older woman and her Garchomp looked as if they could run the world without breaking a sweat!
She was every bit the champion Lori aspired to be.
“Omigosh hi! Hello!” Unable to contain her excitement, the blonde bounced on the souls of her feet while waving back. “Are you Cynthia? Like, CYNTHIA Cynthia? I’m a huge fan~!”
So much for asking for directions.

If you don’t mind me asking, what does Lori do for a living? :3c
//Thank you for the question!
Lori was originally the champion of the Vazza region, but she still felt her life was lacking something. She wanted to help Pokémon, just like she helped her Duskull and Froslass when she met them. So, she opened up the Ghost Sanctuary!
The Ghost Sanctuary is an old, abandoned mansion in an older part of the Vazza region. Lori saved up her dough and, with the help of some ghosts, fixed up the old mansion to give it a new (after)life! Now she lives in the Sanctuary, caring for all her spooky friends in hopes of finding them their forever trainers.
Ghosts need love too! 🖤💜🖤💜
