"All the feelings you’ve got for me It’s like for a dog" - El Perro Del Mar
"Tight", "Firm", "Fast - 2014, Lenticular Print at Roppongi Art Festival 2014, Tokyo - Japan.
"Live in the largest cities and the most populous in Southeast Asia making all things to be very limited. Traffic congestion, human density, squeeze between skyscraper buildings, as well as the dark-slum-narrow alleys have become regular fare for those who live in Jakarta. The ignorance either from the Government or from society is increasingly troublesome hopes to be able to move freely in the city. The situation failed to resolve this, then resulting in a gap between the citizens and the city itself. In this artwork, I try to identify the two main key that is use to communicate with the city: bicycle and topographic pattern. Even though using bicycle it had become a trend among residents, not so many are aware of its potential as medium to understand the city. For me, the bike has the same power as a cultural statement by pedestrian, i.e. to reliving a sense of intimate with urban environment. By using the bike, that intimate experience attempt translated using topographic pattern, as a visual language. A language that is difficult to understand when we have never been familiar with the geographic shape of a city, like using cars and motorcycles, and the bike is the right tool to feel it. The visual language will be presented in a bold and colourful way, using lenticular printing technique that will display the illusion of depth as well as requested the visitors to move through from various angle to get the visual experience from a different point of view."
