Guide to the mobile game Hoshi no Dragon Quest / Dragon Quest of the Stars!

Event Gacha 5/26-6/2

There 2 separate gacha, one offering the Erdwin Hero set, and the other the Serenica Hero set. In this gacha they also offer quite a few other items likeprevious DQ11 equipment sets, DQ7 Okiano set, Elemental God weapon set, Metal Slime equipment, etc. They both have a 3000gem 11 pull with 2 5star guarantee. In this post i will only cover both Erdwin and Serenica only since its quite a bit the other 2 offer.

First off Erdwin's equipment.

*It could possibly be translated as Brownie Boost, which is a Pep Power in DQ11. It does give Attack and Defense buff like the pep move, but instead of HP/MP regen you get Speed buff.*

My Opinion:

Both of these gachas offer one of the best Support and Attack equipment.

Erdwin's set, perfect for Battle Master/King, Gladiator/Godhand, and Pirate/Space Pirate. All i can say is the whoke set is fantastic. As far as resistances its good, but you can easily make up for it with Crests, Accessories, and Foods. What it offers tho is commonly needed in alot of battles.

Serenica's set, i must say it is all a MUST for support! You want a healer? This is the best set. Perfect for a Super Star/Ultra Star. You could equip it to an Astronomer/Space-time Engineer but it would obviosly be best equipped to a Super Star/Ultra Star since it is perfect for buffing in healing. It offers atleast a bit of resistance to all elements, gives magic damage reduction, and healing when hit my spell attacks, and heals the whole team when using Support Skills(it double heals when you use omni heal with the bottom armor) it also automatically revives an ally with full hp once per battle! You can make up for the rest of resistances you need with Crest, Accessories, and Foods.

I give both gachas 20/10 Drackies.

Super Advanced Vocations

(Guide under construction)

These Vocations are an upgraded version for each Advanced Vocations.

To be able to change into these Super Advaced Vocations you must acquire the Bond Accessories of each(there is 9) dungeon from the event "Far Beyond Space and Time" which you obtain after clearing the first dungeon for each boss.

Once you obtained these accessories then they give you a mastery scroll for a Super Advanced Vocation. To become one of the Super Advanced Vocation you must level the necessary Advaced Vocation to LVL99. If you Revocated it still counts as LVL99.

These SAV's have a Skill Point board, which you obtain upgrades to your Vocation Skills also giving you stat upgrades along the path you travel. Obtaining these you must fulfill required objectives and claim them from the board. I believe you can re-spec your board by spending gems(i haven't checked this info completely yet so once i get clarity i will update this part.)

These SAV are an upgraded version to each Advanced Vocation, raising the effectiveness of their Vocation Skills or changing into something else more useful/stonger. Their second Vocation Skill becomes more effective as well, being able to choose one out of 3 different desired effects you want to build with depending on Skill Point path you choose.

As of right now the only way to get the SAV is to get the accessories from the event, as to how to obtain them after the event ends there is no further information so i suggest making sure you complete the first of all dungeons and obtain all 9 accessories right now before the event ends on June 6th(that's June 5th with US time zone.) Once you get them they are permanent, meaning changing and being the SAV is not event only.

Event Gacha 5/21

Todays gacha features the Dragon Staff, Pallium Regale armor, and Apollos Crown and Shield. Just like yesterday, this gacha lasts only one day and it is all alchemizable. This equipment first appeared in DQ5, but it re-occurs in later titles. The shield is newly introduced to the mobile game, not in any other DQ title.

Dragon Staff

A) Puff!

Spell Skill that transforms the user into a dragon and damages all enemies with a Flame Breath attack. Damage is based off enemy breath resistance, not magic defense. This spell skill cannot cast critical spell. Target: All enemies

Apollo's Shield

B) Apollo's Blessing

While guarding recieve 50% less damage and recover 50HP. Guard lasts atleast 3 turns.

S) The Sun Will Rise Again

At death, 10%-15% chance of reviving the wearer with full HP.

My Opinion:

The Dragon Staff is truly the only thing worth the pull for. Having a spell that deals breath damage can help against enemies that have strong MAG DEF or have the Bounce skill. This spell isn't bounceable and the damage depends on enemy breath resistance, so it can be pretty handy. It also hits all enemies so it's great for crowd control. You can actually equip this spell skill to any vocation since the damage output is purely dependent on enemy resistance to breath attacks, no need for MAG ATK stat. Its subskill slot growth is fine and when it alchemizes it's really great! This wand is perfect for a Sage since you can equip more spell skills, having only one Support and Assist subskill slot, giving you a slot to either heal or buff, and other slot for team buffing or damage + debuffing.

The armor I would say is not so great. It has pretty low DEF, not many resistqnces, and their unique Defensive skills are left for chance, not worth the risk.

The Shield is also not the best. You only have a 3/20 - 1/5 chance of being revived at death. It only heals 50HP when you guard, which is not much, and its DEF is just average almost below it. If you have shields to heal more it is honestly better than this. And the chance rate for revival is pretty low and risky that doesn't make up for everything else it lacks for.

I give this gacha pre alchemized 3/10 Drackies, after alchemization 4/10 Drackies.

Event Gacha 5/20

Today's gacha is only limited to one day. It is based off from the Zenithian Equipment from DQ6 which are the Orgon Armor, Helm of Sebath, Shield of Velora, and Sword of Ramias.

These equipment can be alchemized, which I will cover below.

Ramias Sword

Weapon Skill:

When this sword is equipped, after a normal attack another normal attack will be added right after with Dain(lightning) attribute damage.

Main Skill:

A) Big Banga

Attack skill that deals 380%-565% Mera(fire) damage to all enemies. Target: All enemies

Sub Skill:

A) Oomph

Support Skill that gives a targeted ally a full buff on Attack. Target: Ally

When guarding recieve 70% less damage. Guard lasts atleast 3 turns.

My Opinion:

The sword's main skill "Big Banga" and "Super Big Banga" are commonly used by other players with them being in subskill slots. The sword does offer decent ATK and that additional normal attack with Dein damage is nice. Its main skill is not weapon specific, meaning when you eatract it you can equip it to any weapon type(if it has A or S class subskill slot for Attack Skill that is.) So honestly I would either:

1) Extract the main skill before alchemizing or

2)Alchemize it then extract it.

Depends if you have any weapons with attack subskill slot class A or S. Obviously if you have a weapon with an S attack subskill slot id alchemize it first then extract, Super Big Banga can be very useful. As far as what vocation this sword is useful with, I would say Battle Master. Take advantage of the Anger vocation skill from the BM, the Oomph sub skill it comes with, and if you have Sebath's Helm equip it to load up Big Banga faster, you can deal massive group damage! This sword is made for enemy crowd control, specially if theres that type of boss that likes to keep spawning its other half or its underlings.

The rest of the equipment offer above average DEF, but has some great resistances. With Attack Spell damage reduction, status effect resistances, and Orgon's Blessing skill it can really make battles less threatening. Having that HP recovery every turn, and resisting Sleep, Confuse, and Seal is great. Being able to load some skills faster can make fights easier.

The shield, albeit does reduce quite a but of damage when guarding, it doesn't heal you when you guard. But to make up for that it's best to equip Orgon's Body Armor with the Shield to help recover a small amount of HP while guarding and taking less damage. So if equipping this shield make sure you have an armor that heals HP every turn.

My only criticisms to this is that there are no elemental damage reduction, meaning if an enemy does physical/skill attacks with elemental attributes you will not have any damage reduction to them. Seal resistance is only useful for Sages, Super Stars, Astronomers, and Paladins. So for what it offers it's useful to mix with other equipment rather than having the whole set equipped together.

All in all, sword is worth to pull for to extract its main skill, armor is only good for the resistances it carries when you dont have crests and accesories to have them, and the shield is okay but it is best to have a shield that heals you when you guard. The bottom armor is only great for allies who mainly uses Spell Skills or Support Skills since it offers seal resistance, spell and support CT charge speed, and reduced magic damage.

I give this gacha pre-alchemized 6/10 Drackies, alchemized 7.5/10 Drackies.

This gacha is based off DQIX equipment which includes the Seraphim Robe, Seraphim Bow, Starsmasher, and the Aurora Wand. This gacha lasts only 2 days, 5/18-5/19, and you get to do a free 10 pull.

When a normal attack hits the enemy there is a 15% chance of inflicting 20% reduced defence to the enemy. Infliction rate changes depending on enemy resistance.

Main Skill:

Attack Skill that deals 500%-800% Jibaria(earth) damage to all enemies, with a 15% chance of raising your Attack by 40%. Target: All enemies

Aurora Wand

Weapon Skill:

7% chance of removing enemy buffs when normal attacking.

Main Skill:

S) Miracle Aurora

Assist Skill that recovers 300HP to the user and gives 30% CT charge to the user's Support Skills.

My Opinion:

This whole series is actually really great defensively! The Seraphim armor offers average defense but to makes up for its defense is its defensive skills! It is loaded with useful damage reduction from common element attribute damages and the Body Robe's "I Won't Give In!" Defensive skill is really useful against dragons and enemies who use magic attacks! Every turn it will reduce breath or spell damage by 30% on first hit, combine that with blocking you'll stack it to atleast 80% damage reduction to both kinds of attacks! But it's only on the first attack on the turn, if it does another spell or breath attack right after it won't activate, but when next turn comes it will pop back up. The Hat and Body Robe is worth to pull for! The Bottom Robe is honestly okay, its great against Dragons to reduce breath attack but its S Skill is one time use only during a battle, and it activates when an ally HP is pretty low which is pretty risky.

The Starsmasher is a fantastic hammer that has a main skill that deals a huge amount of damage to a whole group of enemies. The weapon skill is decent, being able to debuff an enemy while normal attacking. The Skill Subslots is pretty good, being able to equip 2 S class Skills, an A assist skill, and B support skill. You can have the B support skill for a buff type skill. This hammer is great for a Pirate, most Hammer Skills add buffs to the user or team. This is a must hammer unless you have the Golden Dragon Hammer.

The Seraphim Bow is perfect for a Monster Master. It debuffs enemies pretty fast, and with most Bow Skills being debuffing types it is best to load it all with debuffing types of skills. It has a great Sub Skill slot and attack is pretty high for a bow. Probably one of the best things to pull from this gacha.

The Aurora Wand is great for an Astronomer. It's okay for a Sage but this wand is best used to support woth healing/debuffing/buffing than to be aggressive. Astronomers can debuff enemies easier than a Sage so I would try to add skills that will try to debuff the enemy and maybe throw a buff or 2 in its Sub Skill slot. It's main skill can help make up Astronomer's lack of DEF, and help charge Support Skills faster to quickly heal or buff your team when needed. There are better wands out there so I wouldn't really aim for this wand.

Overall i give this gacha 8/10 Drackies. Good luck!

Distance Beyond Space and Time Boss info

There are 6 bosses in this event, each giving you the colored yocchi. Nokturnus, Aamon(Red yocchi,) Excalipurr, Kon the Knight & Slon the Rook(Blue yocchi,) and Avarith, Gracos(Green yocchi.)

(did you know? In the japanese version these bosses have completely different names! Excalipurr=Repaldo, Nokturnus=Dhuran, and Avarith=Fool Fool. yes Avarith's japanese name is Fool Fool lol, and tbh I like Repaldo more than Excalipurr.)

Fighting this boss you want to make sure you have all of these 4 resistances, he can strike hard and fast. The first turn his first move will block you from guarding but all of your skill CT is fully charged, take advantage of this and buff your team or yourself with DEF buffs. He does have a skill that wipes all your buffs away, but doesn't happen that often.

When reducing his HP his Desperate Attack will be Bagi attribute, it can be pretty strong if you do not have resistance to it. As far as his other attacks he does attacks that have Dein attribute and one that reduces your skills CT charge down. You will see an attack that hits your team at random, which is the Dark Breath attack.

He will also give himself a special buff, one that reflects spells, so I urge you to not go with a Sage or use any Spell Skills at all as it will bounce and hit you or your team instead. Be careful, the first few turns you will not be able to block/guard so have healing items/healing skills ready. Luckly his weakness is pretty easy to take advantage, most attacks and skills has those attributes included. Once you get your guard back do not hesitate using it so you can reduce damage intake. He can unleash 3 skills attacks all in 1 turn very fast and often so be careful getting his HP down to reduce his frequency of Skill Attacks.

His weakness to Io and Dein is so easy to exploit. You can debuff his speed or use skills that reduce the enemy CT charge, and also reduce his DEF or ATK can be helpful

Fighting this boss I'd say the crit hit resistance Isn't top priority but if you do have it make sure your character has a little bit of resistance atleast. Otherwise focus on having resitance with the rest(Mera, Hyado, Io, and Dein) since alot of his skill attacks have these alement attribute.

He has a habit of attacking the whole group a bit more frequent so he can be pretty annoying. But focus on attacking and block right before his HP bar goes onto the next color before he unleashes his Desperate Attack, it hits the whole team and has it does crit hit damage. Keep an eye on your HP, if you have healing skills or are a healer then use them to heal the team and use healing items on yourself or block. And it's important to buff the team DEF since it can help reduce crit hits a bit.

His weakness can be exploited with Hyado or Gira attributes, not much or less skills out there with these attributes. Debuffs that are easy to land on him are DEF debuff, Speed debuff, ATK debuff, and sometimes you can reduce his CT charge.

Fighting this boss you really need Sleep resistance! I also recommend the element resistance(Mera, Jibaria, Hyado, and Gira) to be priority.

If you have an Astronomer use its Vocation Skill マホステ/Mahoste/Snub on yourself or if you have the Rubiss Shield or the Metal Slime Shield you can completely nullify Mera, Hyado, and Gira when you block, meaning you don't need to add resistance to these 3 elements if you have an Astronomer, the Rubiss Shield, or Metal Slime shield. Mag Def. Debuff does happen quite a bit but there's ways to work around while being debuffed, but if you need someone to buff Mag Def then either have an Armamentalist and use its Vocation Skill マジックバリア/Magic Barrier, or use the Support Skill of the same name, or if you have the Ouroboros Shield you can just simply block and make use of its effect to buff the whole team(best way to give MAG DEF buff.)

This guy can be pretty nasty. First turn he damages you and removes all of your buffs, so if you have any equipment that gives you a buff at the start of battle it'll just be wiped clean, also he likes to use this same skill through out battle. He will normally use a skill that blocks 1 random skill and use a Mera skill that if you are blocking and it targets you it'll break your guard but you'll recieve the damage as if you're guarding. He will often try to make your team go to sleep so please have sleep resistance on the max! His Desperate Attack is Mahyado/Kacrackle, an ice spell that hits whe whole team.

You want to be careful with this guy, I'd focus more on attacking, blocking, and healing rather than adding buffs. If you have shields that add these buffs it is the best way than using a skill that will.

His weakness can be exploited with Hyado or Jibaria attributes, a little easier than Excalipurr but not as easy as Nokturnus to exploit this weakness. As far as debuffing, you should only concern about DEF debuff, since he likes to cast Sukuruto, a DEF buff spell, on himself.

Event Dungeon

遥かなる時空を超えて

Harukanaru jikū o koete

Distance Beyond Space and Time

New event that starts 5/15-6/5. You can play it in Solo-Play or Multiplayer(in my opinion you should be playing this in Multiplayer.) You choose to fight one of 3 bosses collecting 3 different colored Yocchi, each color depending which boss you fight. Collecting these Yocchi will give you rewards from a tier, going up to 80. You will have to collect a certain amount of colored Yocchi, depending which tear you are on and what color it is asking for. Basically it is a Gather-Tier reward kind of event. Each dungeon is open for a limited time, if it has a purple like orb it means the dungeon is accessible for the time being.

You can also obtain equipment specific to this event, which are the DQ11 Drasilian helm, body armor, and bottom armor from drops and also from tier reward.

This armor set doesn’t really offer too much but if you do want your character sport the Dasilian Armor from DQ11 you can use it to change your characters appearance rather than equipping it. It does offer a nice set of resistance and damage reduction but it doesn’t offer much Defense, making it pretty weak for armor. Not only that but you have to Evolve this weapon up to 9 times, meaning you have to collect a total of 25 of the same armor to evolve it fully to its 10th level to level this up to lvl50. when you get repeat drops obviously go to weapon evolution and fuse them together to raise its cap and also raise their defensive skills, but id hold off leveling them up to lvl50, reinforcement materials shouldn’t be wasted on this armor.

Clearing the first dungeon from each bosses will reward you a Stamp and an Accessory, which you can only obtain from this event(making it 6 different stamps and 6 different accessories you can get.) First thing you want to do with this event is to clear the first dungeon of each boss to get the Stamp and Accessory. You can also obtain crests from these bosses as drops when you defeat them.

Fastest way to collect these Yocchi is to play Multiplayer and the highest level you can play without your character dying. Multiplayer will give you more yocchi since you share luck with other players and share drops among each other and have an additional reward drop in the end based on the team luck combined. Also the higher the dungeon level, the more Yocchi you get from drops.

My opinion:

As far as pulling from this gacha, I highly recommend it if you do not have the Bow and Boomerang. The Axe is also worth to pull for. The Spear and Staff aren’t so bad as effective weapons that can slay Metal Slimes, but the Bow, Boomerang, and Axe can def help you slay those Metal Slimes before they can even think of running away. The sword is only worth to pull to alchemize and extract it's main skill.

As far as the armor and shield goes it has pretty great resistances. They are all pure elemental based resistances which can definitely help reduce damage. As far as DEF stats it is pretty good. You can also alchemize these equipments to make them even better. But as far as having them equipped on the long run, there are better equipment out there. The armors are only great to alchemize and switch into if you need the elemental resistance. The shield doesn't add any reduced damage % while blocking, it just nullifies magic, so its only worth equipping if the enemy casts a lot of spells. But you can have an Astronomer use its Vocation Skill(マホステ/Mahoste/Snub) to gain this same effect, Equip the Rubiss Shield (if you have it) to not only gain this effect but also have a reduced damage % while guarding and heal the user, or increase magic def by using the Armamentalist Vocation Skill(マジックバリア/Magic Barrier) or equip the Support Skill of same name and have equipment with elemental resistances.

So to summarize the best thing you can get from this gacha is the Metal Slime Bow, Metal Slime Boomerang, Metal Slime Axe. What is decent are the Armor for resistances, The Metal Slime Spear, Sword, and Staff to alchemize then extract its main skill(if you do not have any metal slime weapons, then don’t extract the skills just yet) for a stronger Sword, Spear, and Staff to take advantage of the main skills added buffing effects. The shield is only useful if you have the whole armor set and have a high amount of DEF stat to make up for not having any reduced damage % while blocking.

Overall I give this gacha an 8/10 Drackies.

The Treasures of the Ancient Civilization Lada

You can play this dungeon event in Solo-Play and Multiplayer. Playing on Solo-Play on the easiest difficulty you will earn a 5star weapon reward(Boomerang) that can only be obtained in this event. Playing in Multiplayer you can earn Gold and Silver tickets faster with group rewards and such.

Main Skill:

A) ラーダの恵風/Rāda no keifū/Lada's Breeze

Assist Skill that recovers 70HP-90HP to the party.

This boomerang isn’t all too bad, it can heal the whole party a decent amount of HP recovery and has 3 A Skill subslots ready. If you do not have a party healing move this is great for your super star. As far as long run, i’d say there are better weapons and healing skills out there, but this can be a placeholder until you are able to obtain them! I’d just equip in the subslots Healing/Buffing moves since its a weapon made for support, it doesn’t have that high of ATK power so it’s best to just give it skills that only buff and heals your team.

There is a new Atlas for this event, Playing all 4 difficulties in Solo-Play and Multiplayer without anyone in the party dying will give you 100gems(800 total) and in the Atlas if you complete the whole thing you will earn 600 Gems, making it a total of 1400 gems you can earn from this event itself! It can be easily achieved in 1 day!

(For atlas reward 3, 4, and 5 these are the monsters you must defeat to claim the rewards.)

With the Golden and Silver tickets you earn playing this event dungeon you can exchange them at the Merchant Shop for reinforcement materials and alchemy materials! Also some 5 star armor that is specially from this event, and a B Assist skill that heals some HP to the user. Also you can get these purple stone, 魔銑の結晶/Ma zuku no kesshō/Magic Crystal, which you use in Weapon Evolution Workshop for your event boomerang, it is the only way to increase the level cap.

The only Status Effect you should worry about is  混乱/Konran/Confusion. Everything else should be rather pretty easy, even if you are an Advanced Vocation and your level is low by a couple of levels but have equipment and skills leveled up, you should have no problems beating the highest level. The highest level is 82, so i can say if your team is equipped with 5 star gacha equipment and they are leveled up and skills too, you can beat this as low as level 65. Maybe even level 55 depending how well you are equipped. The boss doesn’t have moves that really devastate the team, only this one attack that can confuse the whole party if you don’t have resistance to confusion.

Again, playing this in Multiplayer will give you more Tickets. Most people have their luck maxed and there’s a bonus drop in the end of every multiplayer match so if you are looking to farm these tickets the best way doing it is in Multiplayer!

This event lasts until 5/15! So collect all the tickets you can and get all those alchemy and enhancement materials! Also the event armor if you haven't already!

Star God Equipment Gacha 4/25-5/6

Star God gacha and event is now in effect, and let me tell you this is a wonderful gacha to pull from! It's the first time you get Dragon Quest fantasy and scifi mixed together, so it is really unique and I must say the equipment in this gacha are high tier when it comes to effectiveness and awesome looking!

The gacha event runs 4/25-5/6 10:59am(JPN time) so you have a week and a couple days to pull from this gacha. Not only the gacha event lasts pretty long but you get 11 equipment instead of 10, and atleast two 5star guarantee when you spend 3000 gems!!! You have great chances pulling from this gacha, not as great as the Step Up event gacha, but it is the next best thing. Also there is 2 newly introduced weapons added into this gacha series, the Peacock and Spear.

My Opinion:

All of this are fantastic equipment to own. My only criticism is that the shield doesn't heal as much I would like and equipment doesn't offer as much resistances I would like, but with what resistance that it does have are commonly needed so the rest you can cover with crests, accesories, and food.

The shield is best equipped onto a Sage, Armamentalist, or Super Star since it helps load up spell and support skills faster. Again I am not that big of a fan of how small the healing it gives, but atleast it gives it to the whole team.

The helm is really awesome. Every turn your Main Skill gains 25% CT charge, you can go back and forth unleashing a sub skill first, then your Main Skill. You can possibly unleash 2 skills in one turn with this, specially if you speed buff your character this can happen so fast.

For the whole armor set I would say it's great for any Vocation. But as for the Shield it's best equipped to Vocations that Specialize in Spell Skills and Support Skills(which is Sage, Super Star, and Armamentalist.)

Weapon Evaluation:

The Axe is one of the most powerful weapons in this game. It is best equipped to a Battle Master and Gladiator. Take advantage of Crit Hits and boost it up with crests and armor. When this axe is maxed out it can deal 2,000+ damage with it's main skill, making it one of the strongest weapons in the game.

The Peacock(fan) is wonderful for buffing your team and has pretty high attack for a Fan, so it's best equipped to a Paladin or Super Star. It's perfect for supporting defensively and offensively at the same time so it has really good versatility in the battle field buffing your team and dealing spread damage at the same time.

The Spear is very unique, finally being able to equip EX skills on sub slots. It's pretty stong as a Spear, and the possible buffing effect is pretty nice. Perfect for Paladins and Battle Masters. You can go very offensive(Battle Master,) or you can flex with offensive skills with some supporting skills(Paladin.)

The Disk is perfect for defensive support, best equipped on a Super Star to increase HP healing and team buffing. Load it up with skills that heal and buff your team. Dont worry about trying to be too offensive with this weapon, you get only one Attack Skill slot, the rest should be for team support with buffs and healing.

The Wand is best equipped on a Sage, having a main Spell Skill slot and a Spell sub skill slot. Assist skill slots can be used to help support your allies with buffing, or can be used to focus debuffing or inflicting status effects on enemies since it's main skill has a high chance inflicting the Yasumi(Relaxation) effect on enemies.

The Gun's attack is above average, but it's effect is great with dealing enemies who often add buffs to themselves. Best equipped a Monster Master, loading it up with skills that help debuff your enemies.

And finally the Whip is versatile with Support or Debuff. Its good with a Super Star or Monster Master. You can Load it up with healing support skills and buffing assist skills as a Super Star, or load it with debuffing assist skill and buffing support skills to be a versatile Monster Master that flexes.

I give this gacha a whomping 12/10 Drackies. Good luck with your pulls!

Edit: Pirate's "Sea Bond" effect is a defensive skill your Pirate learns when it reaches to level 5. What it does is buffs given to the team by your Pirate lasts an extra turn or two than usual, it extend buff duration to the whole team if it is the Pirate who gave the buff.

These weapons have really high battle efficiency, great Main Skill, Weapon Skill, sub slot growth set, and attack strength, and some are alchemizable.

The rest are good to extract skills, or have great use against specific bosses. Just a few are not worth the effort, only good to give you 1000 points to the merchant shop or give you a main skill to extract that's momentarily good until something better replaces it.

I'd most likely skip the Fan gacha since there isn't much Fan weapons made at the moment.

Once these gachas pop up I will go more in depth, but for now these are just some predictions of mine and to help give an idea how to spend your gems.

Weapon Skill:

When a normal attack hits the enemy there is a 15% chance of inflicting 20% reduced defence to the enemy. Infliction rate changes depending on enemy resistance.

Attack Skill that deals 500%-800% Jibaria(earth) damage to all enemies, with a 15% chance of raising your Attack by 40%. Target: All enemies

Attack Skill that deals 360%-520% damage to one enemy. Target: 1 enemy

Weapon Skill:

15% chance of reducing enemy CT charge by 30% when you attack normally. Success rate fluctuates depending on enemy resistance.

Attack skill that deals 320%-480% damage to one enemy and increases your Attack by 25% Target: 1 enemy

Attack Skill that inflicts 2, 7, 10, or 15 damage on a Metal Slime. On a regular enemy inflict 150%-180% damage. Target: 1 enemy

大天使のハンマー/Dai tenshi no hanmā/Archangel Hammer

Main Skill:

A) アークインパクト/Ākuinpakuto/Arc Impact

Assist Skill that deals 220%-320%damage to all enemies with a 50%-75% chance of inflicting confuse to the enemy. Target: All enemies

Sub Skill:

B) 天使の息吹/Tenshi no ibuki/Angel's Breath

Assist skill that targets an ally and recovers 20HP for 4 turns. Target: 1 Ally

My Opinion:

The Star Smasher, Water Dragon Hammer, Ende's Hammer, and Metal Slime Hammer are great weapons to pull for!

The Star Smasher is the second most strongest Hammer, having pretty high Attack, a weapon skill, a really strong main skill, and excellent sub skill slot growth. It hits heavy and hard against your enemies. Great for aggresive Gladiators and Pirates. This is the best weapon to offer in the gacha as far as strength, skill, sub slot growth, and overall usefulness.

The Water God Hammer although it's Attack isn't the highest it does have a strong elemental attribute, weapon skill, main skill, and above average sub skill slot growth. Its great for a Gladiator since most of its sub skills are Attack Skill slots.

Ende's Hammer doesn't have a bad Attack, but it gets better when you alchemize it. It gains a second Main Skill which increases Quickness to all of your allies. It's main skill loads fast and hits pretty hard. If you already have Star Smasher or Water God Hammer, its best to alchemize Ende's hammer and then extract it's main skills to take advantage of both main skill's usefulness. As far as sub slot growth, it is above average. This hammer is great for Monster Master and Pirate.

Metal Slime Hammer is pretty good for fighting slimes, but can be easily replaced with the Metal Slime Bow, Boomerang, Whip, and/or Axe. If you don't have any of them, the hammer can be a good stand in for those Metal slime weapons I listed. It's main skill is pretty useful for other hammers, buffing yourself while dealing damage.

The Holy King's Hammer main skill is great to equip to any of the 4 hammers I listed, damaging your opponent and recieving healing at the same time. If you obtain it immediately extract it's main skill!

The Archangel Hammer's main skill is about average. Besides that there isn't much use for this weapon but extracting it's main skill

As for the Abacus, it's not really a useful weapon from this gacha. It's main skill doesn't do enough damage, it's sub skill slot growth isn't well, same goes for it's strength. I'd either keep it so you can have your character look like Torneko, or sell it at the merchant shop for 1000 points. Main skill isn't even really worth to extract.

Event Gacha 4/17-4/20

ステップアップふくびき/Suteppu appu fuku-biki/Step Up Gacha

ねらいうちステップアップ/Neraiuchi suteppu appu/Aim to Step Up

This gacha is sorta a new introduction to a similar gacha system they had during the FF Record Keeper event a few months ago. You start off paying 1000 gems for a 10 pull, then 2000, and after that it'll be 3000 with a higher chance obtaining the bows in theme for this gacha.

There is one Bow you must have, the Metal Slime Bow, which you will have the best chance obtaining it here than any other gacha. There are 2 Bows, the Seraphim and the Holy Wind Bow, that are really great to equip for your Monster Master and Super Star, they are best to be kept and leveled up. The rest are good to extract their main skills for these 3 bows.

Now to explain the Step Up gacha pulling process.

Step 1

1000 gems = atleast one random 5star guarantee

Step 2

2000 gems = atleast one 5star bow from this gacha guarantee

Step 3

3000 gems = atleast two random 5star guarantee

Step 4

3000 gems = atleast one random 5star and one 5star bow from this gacha guarantee

Step 5

3000 gems = atleast two 5star bow from this gacha guarantee

Total is 12000 gems for 4 guaranteed 5star bows from this event and 4 guaranteed random 5stars. Now you most likely will recieve more than what is guaranteed.

As of right now the game is on Maintanence so i will update with a better explanation of these 3 bows, but for right now it is best to pull for #1, if you obtain any of the two from #2 it is best to level it up used as a weapon for your Monster Master or Super Star.

#1 is one of the best weapons to fight against all types of Metal Slimes.

If you obtain any of the other bows, its best to extract their skills. The top left, The Captain's Cannon, its great Attack stat wise, but the sub skill slot classes doesn't go as high as the 3 i pointed out, but it is a decent weapon for a Pirate. The bottom 2 on the right side are only great for Main Skill extraction.

I give this gacha 10/10 Drackies.

Not only this is the return of the Saint's Equipment gacha but it us also an addition to the Alchemy Workshop, making this gacha series finally Alchemizable for the first time. On a separate post I will break down in details about the added effects once Alchemized.

Also in this gacha are the Gringham Whip and Falcon Knife. These two weapons are also Alchemizable.

Weapon Skill:

While equipped you can do 2 normal attacks and adds +25 Agility to your stat.

Main Skill:

Spell Skill that deals earth attribute damage to all enemies. Target: All Enemies

Sub Skill:

B) ばくれつけん/Bakuren tsuken/Multifist

Attack Skill that deals 60%-80% damage 4 times targetting randomly. Target: Random Enemies

My Opinion:

Okeano's sword is pretty good, being able to do an extra normal attack, having a strong non elemental main skill, and support skill that buffs you to the max strengthening buff. Although it has a good sub skill panel and weapon ability, when the weapons level is maxed it is just a shy lower than most 5star swords out there. On it's defence, it can now be Alchemizable, so its attack stat raises a bit but i will cover it at a later post.

The sword is great for a Pirate, being able to attack and set skills to help buff the team.

As for the armor, its resistances are okay. The mera(frizz) resistance is great, many enemies usses this element in their attacks, but everything else is pretty much only situational and subpar. As far as giving Defence stats they go above average. The shield is above decent, but there are better shields out there.

The Gringham Whip is pretty sweet for an Armamentalist or Monster Master being able to use mostly assist skills, a spell skill, and a support skill. Its great to pack it with skills that debuff to your enemies. As for Attack stat, its about average for a whip, there are some that are better than this one.

And finally the Falcon Knife is not really that great of a knife/dagger. The main skill can be useful to retrieve and equip to a better weapon. The weapon skill is good for fighting metal slimes, but thats about it. If you do not have a single Metal Slaying weapon and you obtained this one, then its not bad to use against metal slimes, otherwise if you have the chance to pull from the Metal Slaying Weapons gacha then it can be easily replaced. The attack stat is pretty low for a 5star knife/dagger and the sub skill slots is below average.

The Gringham Whip and Falcon Knife can be alchemizable as well. The Gringham Whip becomes more useful when its alchemized, adding a Mainskill that heals and gives regen to all of your allies. As for the Falcon Knife, it becomes into Falcon Earrings and adds a new main skill which heals the users HP by 100HP and adds a speed and strength buff. I would honestly just Alchemize the Falcon Knife and etract its main skill. As for the Gringham Whip it can be pretty useful both before and after alchemization, but if you do obtain a better whip down along the road id extract it for its main skills.

I give this gacha a 6/10 pre-alchemized Drackies. After alchemy, I'd give it 8/10 Drackies. (Only thing really worth pulling for is Okeano's Sword and the Gringham Whip.)

This gacha is the last of the DQ11 series gacha and it is based on Veronica's Eternity equipment/costume from DQ11. It only lasts from 4/13-4/15.

An assist skill in which the user's CT for their Spell and Support skills are charged by 20% at the start of their turn. This effect lasts for atleast 2 turns. Target: Self.

My opinion:

The Staff of Eternity is really great for a Sage, being able to use both Spell and Support skils back and forth. My only criticism is Gira/Sizz attribute Doesn't really give much damage to enemies. In fact most enemies has some resistance to it. Making the Main Skill spell kinda weak. You would have to magic defence debuff your enemies and probably increase your Gira Attribute damage or give yourself Spell critical damage buff for the spell to be really effective against enemies. It's still not half bad when you fight against a whole group, you are able to kill off small enemies or whittle HPs down. But on the plus side you get to equip another S class Spell Skill and 2 A class Support Skills, and an A class Assist Skill. So this heavy wand can be pretty useful, specially for Sages.

As for the rest of the equipment offers some pretty good resitances, attributes which are commonly used against you. The 50HP healing every turn, and 50% CT charge for all your skills on the first turn is a great way to start the battle against bosses. Having some magic spell resistance helps too. The Enchanting Echo skill is pretty sweet when it activates, 7%-12% chance is not that big or that low of a chance. Id say its okay-ish, i had this equipped and it does activate atleast once sometimes twice in a battle.(Double Multiheal in one turn is a lifesaver lol)

All of the Eternal equipment set this event gacha offers is best equipped to a Sage. Defensive wise, these equipment offer decent defence. But the resistances and the 50HP constant healing makes up for a small bit. Its best equipped with equipment that shorten the CT charge wait time rather than loading a huge amount only on the first turn of battle. It does give a good head start but if you are fighting hard bosses its important to be able to have a healing skill ready at every 1-2 turns if you want a strong support.

I give this gacha 8.5/10 Drackies!

How to download Dragon Quest of the Stars!

There are 2 proper ways to download the mobile app game Dragon Quest of the Stars!

This mobile game is free to play but have optional purchases for gems, like any other Gacha based mobile games.

A Gacha based mobile game is when the game has a function where you draw materials through a lottery feature by using in game currency(gems) to use in game, for this game it is weapons and armor equipment, and what you obtain is based on luck. Similar to a loot box system in most western video games. You obtain gems through playing the game. It's not difficult to earn gems in this game, and you also can purchase gems with real world currency.

From my experience with most mobile games that are Gacha based, the drop rate % for this games is bigger compared to others.

Download the QooApp application:

On Android you will have to visit the QooApp website and download the .APK file, then once you open the .APK file on your android mobile device you will have to let your phone do the work. The link to the website is right below.

Once you have QooApp downloaded, copy this -> 星のドラゴンクエスト , and then paste it onto the search bar after opening QooApp application, you should find it as the first search result.

Click download and then you will have the game downloaded into your android mobile device! Once you open the app it is going to download all of its files, so it will take a while to download. Make sure you have a steady connection and keep the app open so it can download.

To update the DQ app you will have to go to the QooApp application and download the update through there, then when you open the game it will copy the update files after you have clicked and completed the update on QooApp and download. You will have to keep the DQ app open to download the necessary files to completion.

These updates occur when there is a new big event being added, new features being added, or when they are fixing bugs. We get heads up notice on Scheduled Maintanence with whats being updated. When they appear I will post on the facebook group, Dragon Quest of the Stars USA, also in the Dragon Quest of the Stars Discord server with a translated guide with what the updates are and when they will occur.

Also doing it this method, if you plan to purchase gems with real world currency, you will not be able to. You can only do it with the second method.

Japanese Android/iOS store:

By doing this method you can have your phone do the updates for the mobile game automatically, once you open the DQ app it will copy the update files and download them like any other mobile app game.

For Android users:

You will first need a VPN to start with and have it set to Japan, then you have to go into your settings and clear the Cache for your Play Store. Then you can either 1) Create a new email, or 2) Change your current email's region.

Changing your current email's region can affect whether or not some of your apps can be updated, depending if those apps are region locked to your country. So I suggest making a new email or use a secondary email you don't care about so you can switch between email accounts easily in the app store and all of you apps, including the DQ app, will update automatically based on your update settings on the app store.

If you have created a new email, you will have to have that email account's region set to Japan and add a phony japanese address(what most people use is a hotel address.) Then when it comes to the payment option you can just use a paypal account.

Once you have finished changing regions, you can access the Japanese App Store and from this point I didn't need to use a VPN any longer to access the play store, you just need it to trick your email into believing you are indeed in that region to have it set. Yet again i have done this a long time ago and can't really remember how i did it 100% I am just sharing from my memory and websites I have just researched while making this guide lol.

It is possible to purchase gems with real world currency doing this method, but there are more steps to cover. What you will need to make this happen is a PayPal linked to the play store account you used to download the mobile game and something else I can't remember. I will come back to this guide and update this once I have done my research.

If you have downloaded the DQ .APK through other means than these steps you will not be able to download any updates, making the game unplayable. You will need a means of downloading the update files, which these two methods offer.

Once you have downloaded the game, enjoy and go on Questing 😁! You do not need a VPN to play this game as it does not have any sort of region lock to it.

When you begin playing not all features are available right away. You will have to obtain access to features like Multiplayer and the Momon shop, where you upgrade weapons and create materials, by playing through the tutorial and story mode. It doesn't take long to get to that point.

C) すばやさダウンガード+弱/Subaya-sa daungādo + yowa/Quickness down resistance + weak

Quickness down resistance by 15%-20%

My opinion:

This isn't a half bad set. If you equip the right skills for the Dynamo Dagger you can just dual wield and forget about having a shield if you want to focus more offensively. There are various Assist skills that deal damage and recover your HP so equipping those to this dagger will help the Shield trade off.

The armors offer avarage defence but great Defensive Skills and resistances to make up for it. The reisitances are common attribute attacks from enemies so it can really come in hand in majority battles. The constant HP healing both coat armor pieces offer also helps make up the shield trade off for dual wielding.

So you have a dagger that deals damage and steals HP, has skills slots to equip other skills that can help replenish HP, top armor that heals some HP every time you attack, and a bottom armor that when someones HP is at or below 20% it heals everyone 100HP including yourself.

Best Vocation for this set would obviously be Pirate. Maybe Gladiator as well, but the Stats a Pirate Vocation has(HP and DEF) helps make up the decent defence the armor offers + the main skill for Pirate that buffs team defence and breath attack defence will stack what this equipmemt lacks for.

I give this gacha set a 9.5/10 Drackies!
