【 ♞ 】— If it had been anyone else, Ichigo would have waited to step forward and examine their phone, though since it was Chad, Ichigo didn’t hesitate to peer over the fellow teenagers shoulder. The Daiko raised himself onto the tips of his toes, toffee hues trained on the humble device held within large hands.
Ichigo grunted at his companions quiet response, too eager to see who would be available to play in the new game to be bothered to reply. He took the phone into his own hands when offered to scroll through the roster, expression lighting up at the sight of Miguel’s name, grin stretching across his features.
【 ♞ 】— “Nicee!” Ichigo hummed, continuing to read the names listed. He snorted to himself when he registered what Chad had mumbled, remembering the last time he’d brawled with Tatsuki. “Oh yeah, Tats’ is the reason I even started playin’ Tekken. She’s so competitive though, so unless you wanna lose on purpose to avoid her grillin’ you I’d say you just stick to not playin’ with her.”
There is a rhythm and a rhyme to the flow of their friendship; it comes naturally at this point, the gentle endless movement of a stream as they curve into one another’s habits. As Ichigo raises himself up, Yasutora lowers his hand so as to meet the other’s movement. When Ichigo takes his phone, his gaze pulls away from it, instead focusing on his companion’s reaction.
The same passivity rules over Yasutora, perhaps a habit or simply by his easy-going nature, either could be the case. Quietly, he watches Ichigo scroll through the list, hands returning to his pockets as he notices the smile slowly spread over his lips. It pulls one from the Fullbringer as well, as his friends’ joy tended to be his own, too.
“Ah, I see...” he says, “I’m not surprised she’s so competitive, though,” he adds, somewhat absentmindedly. Yasutora’s case was similar, though, having started playing because of Ichigo’s interest in it when they were teenagers. Rarely did he seek out these forms of entertainment on his own, admittedly; he was content with simpler and quieter past times. In the end, he agrees with Ichigo’s advice to not play with their headstrong companion, especially considering he wasn’t competitive by any means.
