Ely Cathedral reflected in the still waters The “Ship of the Fens” standing tall against the morning sky, mirrored perfectly on the river below.
Set amongst the picturesque East Anglian countryside we find the peaceful village of Hoxne in north Suffolk.
The village hit the headlines back in 1992 when a guy was hunting for a farmer’s lost hammer in a field with a metal detector and came across the largest hoard of 4th century Roman silver and gold ever found in Britain! The findings became known as the ‘Hoxne Hoard’ and are now held in the British Museum in London with a value of £2.66 million! Not sure if the hammer was ever found!
Barrels of Portuguese sherry just unloaded at the London docks. Equivalent to 600,000 bottles. Cheers.
That was probably Grandad’s delivery!
The Eagle and Child is a historic pub in Oxford, England. Lots of writers would drink there. It is best known as the meeting place for the Inklings, a group that included famed authors J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis
The pub, often called "the Bird and Baby," has been a fixture since at least 1650 and holds a Grade II listed status, reflecting its cultural and architectural significance.
The earth laughs in flowers . Ralph Waldo Emerson . If this is true, then Dyrham Park is possibly the most joyful place in the world at the moment The annual Tulip Mania festival runs until the 4th May, a beautiful celebration of the estate’s historic Dutch links. This year, the garden team has planted more than 15,000 bulbs featuring varieties like ‘Queen of the Night’ and ‘Blue Parrot’ and it all looks absolutely stunning. My favourite tulips are the ones dotted like jewels through the pear orchard ~ it really is wonderful to see such formal, stately flowers growing wildly!

The Mason’s Arms, Mayfair A calm, welcoming pub, ideal when the surrounding streets feel a bit too polished. It has long been popular with tailors and nearby shopkeepers.
