Fifteen years at the most famous front door in Britain — and still no interest in the paperwork. Meet Larry, Chief Mouser to the Cabinet Office since 2011 — fifteen years on the job — here in the entrance hall of 10 Downing Street. Beside him sits a despatch box: handmade to carry the confidential documents of office, and at home in this building. Two fixtures of No. 10 — one keeps the mice down, the other keeps the papers secure and safe. For over 250 years, Barrow Hepburn & Gale has made the boxes that carry the business of state — built by hand to last, despatch box after despatch box. As for whether Larry is impressed by any of it — we prefer to keep his miaows confidential.

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend This is the beautiful 1935 Jowett Curlew owned by Ian Thompson. A year newer than our long saloon and a deluxe model but still fitted with the same famous flat-twin engine. Seen in the village of Stoke Charity, Hampshire.
You can never have too many reminders of Empire around you.

Ely Cathedral reflected in the still waters The “Ship of the Fens” standing tall against the morning sky, mirrored perfectly on the river below.
Set amongst the picturesque East Anglian countryside we find the peaceful village of Hoxne in north Suffolk.
The village hit the headlines back in 1992 when a guy was hunting for a farmer’s lost hammer in a field with a metal detector and came across the largest hoard of 4th century Roman silver and gold ever found in Britain! The findings became known as the ‘Hoxne Hoard’ and are now held in the British Museum in London with a value of £2.66 million! Not sure if the hammer was ever found!
Barrels of Portuguese sherry just unloaded at the London docks. Equivalent to 600,000 bottles. Cheers.
That was probably Grandad’s delivery!
The Eagle and Child is a historic pub in Oxford, England. Lots of writers would drink there. It is best known as the meeting place for the Inklings, a group that included famed authors J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis
The pub, often called "the Bird and Baby," has been a fixture since at least 1650 and holds a Grade II listed status, reflecting its cultural and architectural significance.
