This is possibly one of the oldest surviving banqueting houses or hunting lodges in England.
Letheringham Lodge in Suffolk was built for Sir John Wingfield, a courtier at the Yorkist court, who commissioned it at the edge of the deer park on the family’s estate.
Medieval hunting lodges of this kind were once common on aristocratic estates, but almost none survive today, making this a rare and remarkable building.
The building displays exceptional medieval carpentry, including moulded timber beams and ornamented dragon posts. Its unusual square plan allowed views across the deer park, in all directions.
Scientific wood-dating techniques have confirmed that the Lodge was built around 1475, making it possibly one of the earliest surviving of its type in England.
Now, Letheringham Lodge has been upgraded to Grade I listed status, the highest level of heritage protection.

Glencoe Lochan! The beautiful little lochan is surrounded by tall trees and has a backdrop of Beinn a’ Bheithir (mountain). The North American trees around the loch were planted by Lord Strathcona in the 1890’s to help comfort his homesick Canadian wife!
Lt-Cdr Roope in the destroyer HMS Glowworm engaged the far superior cruiser Admiral Hipper, ramming and damaging the much larger German ship - albeit with a severe loss of life. Such courage was so evident that Roope was recommended for the VC by Captain Hellmuth Heye of the Hipper - a testament to the Senior Service's aggressive fighting spirit and determination to win even when the land campaign in Norway faltered for the Allies.

1945 Bristol Low Roof K6A Double Deck Bus
The low roof design was achieved by using 4 seat bench seats across the top deck from the left hand side and installing a lowered walkway from the top of the stairs (like a channel or trough) with notices on the back of the right hand lower deck seats reminding passengers to mind their heads when leaving their seats. This model bus was powered by an AEC 6-Cylinder 7.0L Diesel Engine. Low roof buses were necessary on some routes where low bridges were to be encountered...
Childhood Memories - Three Boys share their Fish & Chips in newspaper wrapping in the 1950's (Its no longer permitted to serve Fish and Chips wrapped in newspapers)

I do not recall ever being served fish & chips in newspaper, but apparently it was still quite common in the 1980's.

The White Lion, Covent Garden Right by the market, but it never feels like a tourist trap. It’s lively without being loud. The pub’s name was once used by a political discussion group in the 1820s.

The Guards outside Buckingham Palace
In 1984, the Leander-class frigate HMS Jupiter became wedged under London Bridge after the captain had declined to use available tugs to help navigate the currents of the Thames. The accident resulted in significant damage to both the ship and the landmark. The captain was court-martialed and severely reprimanded.
