The Theme of SoR

I’m rewatching SoR the musical and I’m emotional over an underlying theme. That theme being the idea of people needing to be heard and others listen . Dewey wants to break the mold and people to hear his music. Tomika and the other kids desperately want to be heard by an adult(s) that care for them. Even Rosalie Mullins wants to be heard and be herself. Dewey was the one to listen to the kids and Rosalie and in return they listened to him. It’s just really sweet
