Elena let out a groan as she looked to her roommate, “Do you have any proof of the dog saving the baby other than the photo the owners clearly posted?” She asked the other, “This could simply be people looking for a little media attention and of course they’re going to get it when they combine two things people love, dogs and babies. I’m not writing it if I don’t have any solid evidence.”

“Well isn’t that where you come in? Journalists are supposed to investigate the story, get more information– no?” she prodded the other.

Hearing the request, she smiled and nodded her head. “Yes! I do!” Beatrice moved towards the case. “I have these chocolate cookies with a raspberry creme filling. It might seem like a lot, but I promise you it is not! These are actually some of my favorites.” 

Ginny paused as if considering it before smiling softly, “Those do sound rather delightful. Yeah, I’ll take a box of those,” she decided. “I trust your taste in desserts after all.”

“I feel like every year I forget how much work can go into picking a Halloween costume. Except for those lucky years where you just know, but how often does that really happen, right?” She commented. “Have you figured out what you’ll be? Or are you one of those who opts out of the fun?”

“I’m normally pretty big on Halloween,” Ginny admitted. “But I have no clue what I’m going for this year. Do you? Maybe I can get some inspo off of you.”

“I understand you came in for a specific kind of biscuits, but unfortunately we’re out of those today, but there is no need to be upset.” She explained to the customer in front of her. “We have plenty of flavors that you can try! And they pair up with many of our tea flavors.” 

“I guess so,” she sighed, having originally come in with her heart set on her usual order. “Do you have anything else raspberry flavored?”

“I don’t care how cute your pet is, this isn’t going to be a story I’m reporting.” Elena argued with the other, rubbing the bridge of her nose as they droned on. “Look, I said no, I mean no, now either drop it or leave me alone.”

“But their dog saved a baby. That’s a story if I ever heard one,” Ginny argued, having been seated at the table with the other when they had been approached. “Why won’t you write it?”

“I’m used to it,” Phillip said with a shrug, “You do that, I’m not going to stop you.”

“I know you won’t, but even if you tried you wouldn’t succeed. Nobody gets in between me and my fun,” Ginny added with a seemly sweet smile, something feeling slightly off about it.

Fred couldn’t help but smile against the blondes lips, clearly happy about the route their discussion had taken. One hand reached up to cup the girls cheek, kissing back.

“How’s that for undivided attention?” Ginny smirked, moving in again when he had kissed her back.

“No need to be so delightful,” Ginny replied, rolling her eyes at the other’s lack of enthusiasm.

“So what’s it going to be?” she looked across the room at the other. “If you didn’t want to come you didn’t have to accept the invitation.” she raised an eyebrow at the other as she raised the glass to her lips, she took a sip. “I’m in the mood for pasta personally.”

“What makes you think I didn’t want to come?” Ginny looked to her in surprise. “Pasta sounds good, but your attitude could use some tweaking.”

“There’s always something work related happening,” Phillip said and put his phone down for a minute, “But if you spend so much time on your devices then you really shouldn’t be commenting, should you?”

“I don’t spend as much time as you do,” she countered with a chuckle. “Fair but you need to turn that thing off every now and again. Work is important, but so is giving yourself some time off, mister. I love my job but even I need to take a break sometimes.”

“You’re a smart boy, I’m sure you could figure it out yourself.”

“And people tell me I spend too much time on my devices,” Ginny commented, looking to Phillip who seemed pretty occupied with his eyes glued to a screen. “Trouble at the office or something?”
