Let’s turn all the lights off, get some candles and have a chill Saturday night. No getting ready, no waiting in lines, no going to bars. Let’s use mason jars instead of long stemmed wine glasses and hang out on the living room rug. Or put in a terrible movie and make fun of it together, snuggled on the couch.

I don’t need fancy table settings or a $12 beer or a 3D surround sound experience to have a fantastic evening with my girl.

Must Love Dogs

I joined the foster program at a local animal shelter, & just got my first foster! I was so excited to get a husky, because I have ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS wanted one! She's so full of energy, distracts me from my homework, already super loyal, & gonna be my perfect running buddy.Right now, she's sleeping so sweetly next to me.

I couldn't help but think: as much as I love her already, I love you already more. Take everything I just described about her & times it by a million: that's my dream man! Can't wait...

We're young! That Feeling

I learned so much about my industry & made so many connections with people from all over the world these past few days. But I also learned the most amazing thing on my career adventure:

Saturday night a group of us went dancing in one of the hotel lounges. The band was playing good old songs, the bar was hopping, people were REAL dancing (none of that tacky grinding). It was my kinda scene (who knew I'd find it in Vegas of all places!) I was feeling so alive, & I met a guy that could have been & maybe is you.

He was the life of the party, wild & crazy, livin' it up...but there was something more to him than the typical frat-like party boy. He was flirty & funny but didn't cross the line. That was the first time in my life that I could let my hair down without some guy trying to grab my ass or take advantage of me. He was partying without being the typical disrespectful, & I cannot even tell you how amazing that was to be treated like a lady.

 I wore my polka dot dress, we all sang along to every song, & I felt like we had been friends for years. It just clicked. He let me have sips of his drink, REAL danced with all our friends, & during a high-five we both automatically intertwined our fingers as if we had planned it. I didn't have to think about what to say next or worry about if my hair was a mess & he never once made me feel uncomfortable ....best dancing night of my life!!!There was something there, & I could go on & on & on all day & smile about it forever. I know it was fate: proof that the kind of relationship & guy I dream of does exist.

I may not ever see, talk, or dance with him again- I only know his first name. But I'm so happy I got a sneak preview of the feeling I've been waiting for....

When it feels like that, when I feel like a little girl & woman at the same time, when a night out is just the right balance of wild & innocent, when we can flirt & laugh & dance the night away without crossing the line before we should, when we can be best-friends-at-first-sight....I'll know I'm in love with you. I'll know we are meant to be. & we'll be livin' the dream:)

Right Now

grad school starts soon, those hardcore workouts are paying off, career opportunities are now within reach for me to chase down, everything is falling into place, I have so much to be thankful for, & I am happy, happy, happy (as always).

All I'm missing is Y-O-U. But until our worlds collide: Me, Myself, & I are gonna keep making the most of this amazing life:)

Me + You = Can you even imagine how much awesomeness is gonna be in our relationship?!!! We're going places & kicking butt, you & me against the world (& we'll win of course). ok, enough of these random-but-true facts. Back to Work!!!

Just Me Chasing Dreams...No Big Deal;)

I have just been blessed with the opportunity of a lifetime to chase a career dream! Hardwork & Positive Attitude pays off everytime, & now I'm going places! Hey, you never know, maybe I'll meet you on the plane, at the conference, or in that big old city. Maybe you'll get to hear my presentation, or we'll shake hands & exchange business cards at lunch, or who knows, we could even share headphones on the plane ride!!!

Anyways, the best thing would be you with open arms & a smile waiting for me when I return from this career adventure of my dreams & ready to be back home & live happily ever after....but I guess that's in the future, ain't it?

My Clever Idea

I'm not a fan of doing laundry & don't really know anyone who is. 

BUT... I've come up with the perfect way to divide the laundry responsibility when we start living happily ever after together! I'll wash my own clothes, and you wash your clothes. You're probably thinking, "oh, how original," right?

I'm looking forward to it, because aside from dressing up whenever I'm working an event, I plan on wearing all your clothes. Your t-shirts to bed, your button downs around the house, your neckties whenever I need to tie my hair up, your hoodies when I'm cold...thanks to your clever little future housewife, you're gonna have a lot of laundry to do;)

Hope You Don't Mind

I went to an all girl's college. I've grown to love impromptu pajama parties with late night takeout, borrowing clothes, dorm room workout classes, playing late night dress-up to decide what to wear for tomorrow, huddling under 1 little umbrella walking across campus in the rain, fitting two people into one chair, & walking around in barely anything when it's hot in the building.

Fireworks vs. Your Face

I don't mind sitting by myself while watching fireworks.

Whenever I'm sitting next to my sisters or friends, there's something about it that always make me want to watch their reactions & see their faces light up. I miss half the sky show because I'm so captivated with the facial expressions of the people around me!

And I just know that everytime I get to go to a fireworks show with you, I won't be able to stop watching your face. It's sounds creepy, but true.

So, I'm savoring every last moment being on my own under a sky full of fireworks....because I know that someday soon, I'm gonna be missing it all for the show you won't even know you're putting on for me. Can't wait to see your face light up every 4th of July;)

Just so you know...

You know that song, "The More I Drink" by Blake Shelton?

If you replace the "drink" lyrics with the word "bake", that pretty much sums up what happens when I'm in the kitchen on some random late nights. If I'm making desserts for a holiday, or baking a birthday cake, or decided to make cupcakes just for the heck of it... I won't stop at one or just a dozen.

Because the more I bake, the more I bake...the more I bake!!! Someday soon, your sweet tooth will join mine in being spoiled rotten, & we're gonna have to go on intense workout dates to make up for it. Just so you know;)

Let's Root for the Home Team:)

I went to a local baseball game a few days ago with some friends- I get bored with baseball on TV, but if you take me out to the ballgame I always get caught up in the excitement of the game!  Anyways, at this game, I had a flashback to spring break at Myrtle Beach…

It was chilly the whole week- never got above the mid-60’s unfortunately. The last afternoon there, my friends were in the hotel huddled around the heater watching Disney Channel & spiking their Sonic drinks with Crown & cherry vodka (& I’m pretty sure they spiked mine too, bless them!), & I was laying out on the beach shivering in my bikini but catching every last ray of sun I possibly could before we had to start packing. Just as the sun was starting to turn watercolor colors, a family of five came out with baseball gear. As I closed my eyes to savor my last moments on the beach, I couldn’t help but feel warm & completely relaxed listening to them all play baseball together.

There was a boy about 7 yrs old, a girl close to 5 or 6, and a little boy no older than 2. The dad was pitching, coaching the kids & narrating the game in a radio announcer voice, the mom in the “outfield” cheering each of them on as they went up to bat and chasing them as they rounded the seashell bases. It was like they all were in their own little happy world, and it made me smile. I’ll never forget it.

Someday, on our own family vacation, I hope to challenge you all to a happy game of beach baseball…so get ready, boy;)
