Different Seasons & Being Content
Contentment means a state of happiness or satisfaction. To be content is to be genuienly happy with where you are and not looking down on yourself.
“Seasons” have to do with different times in our lives and what we have going on at that point or where we “feel” like we are. Seasons can be dry, happy, exciting, depressing, tough, and are FULL of ups and downs. These different times can also be a time of growth in the different areas of our lives and can be used to help us grow, within ourselves but, also in The Lord.
I wanted to write this blog post because I feel like its always going to be a relatable topic and to encourage you-- that whatever season you might be in, happy or uncomfortable to just REALLY trust in God and always know “Every storm runs out of rain & this too, shall pass”.
For me myself, I feel like I am in kind of a “dry season”...meaning things seem to be going slow...slow as in not a lot is really going on for me and I just feel like God has me in a season right now where we wants me to take in EVERY opportunity I can and make great use of everything around me. It’s a good thing, because sometimes we try to rush through life or different seasons and we could miss what God is trying to teach/tell us. There are some thing Jesus wants me to learn in this CURRENT season and I cant do that unless I make a constant effort to sit at His feet and spend time with Him.
It feels like A LOT is going on but, not a lot is happening. What I mean is I have a lot of different things going on around me but, MY OWN time still seems to be going slow, and thats okay!! =) Im in NO hurry and I wait on Christ =)...Changes are happening but I’m sitting still and just waiting for what God wants for me. “Dry Seasons” are good because they give us a chance to slow down more and just let God come in and do His work.
The good thing about these seasons is they come and go. They don’t all last forever and you get to learn valuable lessons that help you get to the next season. That way, with these lessons you are able to grow.
“There is a time for everything. and a season for every activity under the sun” --Ecclesiastes 3:1
I love this verse from Ecclesiastes as it goes on to talk about the different “activities” and seasons that happen in life. It’s important to remember ALL these different seasons are a beautiful thing as they help us grow and become who Jesus TRULY wants us to be. Growing and going through different seasons is a part of life.
So I’m excited for the season God has me in RIGHT NOW and I’m excited to see all He has for me. I hope you can learn to be content in whatever season He may have you in and don’t try to rush it, when you rush season’s its so easy to miss something that you were supposed to learn and move to fast to try to get into the next season.
Thank God for this season and be expecting GREAT GREAT things to happen in the time to come!! =)
