A Guide On How To Be a Girly Girl & Stop Caring What Others Think ✨
Being feminine can feel glamorous, creative, soft, confident, and completely magical. But not everyone who loves the girly aesthetic knows where to start — or feels comfortable embracing it openly. That’s exactly why I created this guide: to help you step into your feminine side with confidence while learning to care a little less about other people’s opinions.
First things first: if you’re not naturally drawn to feminine things, don’t force yourself to be. Femininity should feel authentic and fun, not like a costume you wear to please someone else. You deserve to be loved for who you truly are.
This guide is for the girls who *do* adore pink, pretty outfits, perfume, bows, makeup, glitter, soft energy, and all things feminine — but maybe feel nervous about fully embracing it.
And honestly? There’s nothing wrong with being feminine.
Some people believe if you love to act like girly girls you are shallow, childish, or weak, and I could not disagree more. Loving fashion, beauty, pink, or glitter does not make you less intelligent, less ambitious, or less capable.
You can love lip gloss *and* be incredibly smart.
can wear dresses *and* be powerful.
You can adore all things feminine while still respecting yourself, setting boundaries, and chasing huge goals.
Femininity is not weakness. In many ways, it takes confidence to openly love what makes you happy without apologizing for it.
The truth is, the right people will never make you feel embarrassed for being yourself. The people who matter are the ones who encourage you, uplift you, and make you feel beautiful inside and out. Hold onto those people tightly — they’re rare.
Now onto the fun part ✨
My Tips for Becoming More Feminine & Girly
Embrace the Energy
Being a girly girl starts with how you carry yourself. It’s not about pretending to be someone you’re not — it’s about expressing the soft, pretty, joyful parts of yourself confidently.
Some feminine girls are bubbly and outgoing, while others are quieter and elegant. There’s no single way to be feminine.
Personally, I adore pink, glitter, perfume, pretty dresses, dainty jewelry, and all things soft and glamorous. I also try my best to carry myself with kindness, warmth, and good manners because femininity shines brightest through the way you treat people.
And yes… Audrey Hepburn will forever be one of my biggest style inspirations.
Build Your Dream Wardrobe
One of the most exciting parts of embracing femininity is creating a wardrobe that makes you feel beautiful and confident.
Think:
* flattering dresses
* cute skirts
* classy blouses
* pretty handbags
* feminine shoes
* delicate jewelry
Most importantly, choose pieces that make *you* happy. Your wardrobe should feel like an extension of your personality.
Actually Wear the Clothes You Love
Have you ever bought an outfit you absolutely adored… only to leave it hanging in your closet because you felt too nervous to wear it?
You are not alone.
Sometimes stepping into a new style feels intimidating at first, especially when it’s different from what you normally wear. But confidence grows through action. The more you wear the things you love, the more natural it begins to feel.
And remember: femininity is not about having a “perfect” body. That doesn’t even exist.
It’s about finding clothes that flatter *your* shape and make you feel radiant. Dresses are amazing for this because there are so many styles that suit different body types beautifully.
Fashion should never make you feel less than. The right outfit should make you feel like the prettiest version of yourself.
Take Care of Yourself
Girly girls are often associated with self-care because femininity is deeply connected to feeling good, healthy, and put together.
That can mean:
* doing your skincare
* styling your hair
* wearing makeup if you enjoy it
* smelling good
* taking care of your health
* creating little routines that make you feel your best
And no — you absolutely do *not* need makeup to be feminine. Makeup is simply a fun form of self-expression for many girls, not a requirement.
The goal is never perfection. It’s simply putting effort into yourself because you deserve care and attention too.
Create a Feminine Space
Your surroundings can inspire your energy more than you realize.
Adding feminine touches to your room, workspace, or home can make everyday life feel softer and more beautiful. Some of my favorite girly decor ideas are:
* fashion books
* fresh flowers
* candles
* teacups and teapots
* soft blankets
* vanity trays
* cute perfume bottles
* framed fashion prints
* sparkly heels or handbags displayed as decor
Tiny details can make a space feel magical.
At the end of the day, being a girly girl is simply about embracing what you genuinely love without shame. If pink, bows, dresses, gloss, florals, and soft femininity make your heart happy, then own it unapologetically.
You never have to make yourself smaller to make other people comfortable.
Be kind. Be confident. Be feminine if that’s what feels true to you — and let yourself shine unapologetically. ✨
