Love getting to tell people that the name of one of my favorite anime series is Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun. Never not been the most incredible experience to share with a completely straight face that one of the most emotionally impactful and beautifully animated romance stories ever told has “Toilet-Bound” in the title

#from what i’ve read the japanese version of the title (jibaku shounen hanako-kun) doesn’t translate without the toilet being the place he’s #bound to #otherwise it’s something like ‘earth-bound/land-bound boy’ but hanako-san of the toilet = that’s the place he’s bound to #my wife and i are going as hanako and nene for halloween this year so i’m already laughing at telling people where our costumes are from #i have the sense of humor of a middle schooler
