Day 3's prompt was Rain. Shady isn’t sad, it’s just how she looks. She actually really likes the rain. She says it’s what gets her creative juices flowing. I had a lot of fun making this one, and I loved how it turned out! I think it's my favorite so far. I've also given Shady justice from my poor job drawing her last year on the 25th, so double win!

It's that time of year again, the time of year where everyone partakes in art challenges. However this time I have to do this whilst juggling college work so...extra challenge!

This is my third time doing Somethingtober, a personal October art challenge I made for myself in 2021.

The prompt list I made is the first 31 things that popped up into my head. The challenge comes from me having to draw something related to that prompt on the spot without a plan. Also expect most of these to be posted late in the day because well...college work lol.

These are my personal rules:

1: I can only do this art traditionally

2: I can sketch the picture out in pencil, but it must be outlined with ink.

3: I can only color things in with ink

4: I am allowed to manipulate the paper (cutting out shapes from other paper and pasting them onto the main piece, trimming the picture, making the picture itself a fancy shape, etc.)

5: I'm allowed to use stickers, any kind, because I really need to use up my stickers lol. Today's prompt was Picnic.

Sheildy loves to go out on picnics with Pool and Krystal. Sheildy will often go on and on about recent experiences she’s had back at her home planet of Earth, while Pool listens with great interest, always wanting to learn more about Earth (since he and Krystal are not from Earth). Krystal however seems preoccupied with something else... This is basically a continuation of this pic I made last year; I couldn't think of better characters lol. I plan on going back to the Magica lore soon after this, but we'll see what happens.

Also note to self, don't try to make crystal texture with just markers again.

Day 2's prompt was Potion.

Cauldron doesn’t tend to read instructions that thoroughly.  He’ll get all the ingredients and tools, and randomly dumps them in the pot. He just wants to see what happens. On occasion he ends up making a new potion, but most other times it ends up turning into sludge…or whatever this is.

As of today my darkest grey marker has officially run out of ink, which was probably one of my most important markers these past 3 years. That's gonna make coloring certain things harder but I'll see if I can manage.

Day 5's prompt was Paint

So seeing as I’ve gained an interest in designing Mega Man characters this year, I thought it would be fun to use one of the prompts to create a robot master oc. I ended up making what is essentially a robot master version of Huey lol. I’ll call him…Splatter Man! A robot master made specifically to teach kids about colors. Naturally he likes to paint, and he's very messy.

As for his weapon, I thought I'd give him a giant paintbrush arm at first, but ultimately I decided to give him a simple paintball shooter. He can actually control the color of the paintballs a little bit using the paint stored in his shooter.

Clearly I had Color Splash on the mind today lol.

I liked how he turned out! Maybe I might design some more robot master ocs in the future.

Day 6's prompt was Mermaid.

I don’t know the first thing about Puyo Puyo or it’s lore, all I know is that the characters have cool clothes. It also just so happened to have a mermaid character, so I drew Serilly! I remembered the Puyo characters randomly earlier this year because of an old GoAnimate series I used to watch. Looking back, it was like so surreal but funny.

Not much else to say for this one. Happy I finally had an excuse to use my pearl stickers though.

Day 7's prompt was Lightning

Ok so I admit, today was a very busy day for me. By the time the end of the day came around I was exhausted. I also had no idea what I wanted to draw for this prompt. So last minute I drew a quick Lightning Reed. Not the strongest picture to finish off the first week of Somethingtober but oh well. Things happen. Lightning Reed's cute anyway.
