LIFE legend Rita Hayworth was born 100 years ago today in Brooklyn, NY on October 17, 1918. She was one of the top pin-up/glamour girls during World War II and an accomplished dancer and actress - perhaps best known for her role in the 1946 film noir feature “Gilda.” She died in 1987 at the age of 68 from complications of Alzheimer’s disease.
