Hey Guys,

So I just got a message regarding the choice of Spike applications. It’s not going to be me, this time around. I'm genuinely gutted and can't believe how much this hurts but...It does.

You all have become like a second family in the time I have been here. I am truly grateful for the chance to play such a wonderful character and to meet such amazing, supportive individuals.

That being said, I have made the very painful decision to leave. I don't feel I could stay seeing someone else...It might seem childish (I truly TRULY hope it doesn't) but this is a character whose message "You have to go on living." saved my life. Spike taught me it was okay to be a rebel goth kid with bleached hair and a trench coat; he taught me how to accept myself as I am.  And just to tune out whatever BS anyone else said, even if it hurt. Roll with the punches.

So I'm sure you will understand why it would be...painful, I suppose is the best word, to see someone else play him.

I wish you all the best in the future. My Skype is bane.the.bat.breaker and my mail is [email protected] and I would welcome you to keep in touch. Please don't hate me for this decision. I’m going to miss you all so much.

Please note: London is a city of diverse accents and vocabularies. This is a guide rather than an exhaustive list. Some characters would use some words from the list, some would use others, and many characters would use words from the American side of the column rather than the English one. You should use these words selectively and with purpose. Think about who your character is and why their speech has adapted in that way. Rupert Giles and Wesley Wyndam-Pryce would not speak in the same way as Spike, yet all are from London or the surrounding areas.

[pm] So this is going to sound really weird, but some commando, GI Jane type took a vial of my blood at gunpoint a few nights ago, and we all know what my blood can do under the right circumstances. She didn't have any markings on her uniform or anything and I'm coming up dry in research. You think you could check your demon contacts or something? If someone wanted my blood, it has to be for something important--and bad.

[pm] Nothin' sounds weird on the Hellmouth. But I agree...last time anyone wanted your blood we had a full-on apocalypse on our hands which wasn't exactly all sunshine and rainbows. I'll ask around, Little Bit. You leave it with me. I'll beat it out of every nasty in this town if I have to.
