“No matter how elegant the evening dress, I want very much to attach a pocket. If it has no pocket, it means that the woman will have to carry a handbag. And with that handbag comes the silly concern that it might be stolen. An inconvenience is there from the very start. And so come to me with them in your pockets, everything important to you in your pockets.” - Yohji Yamamoto, My Dear Bomb

hey so I have scoliosis too and will probably need the correcting surgery and I've been freaking out I'm scared. does it hurt? and will I still be able to bend or move and work out? help
researching/watching youtube stories really helped me in getting comfortable with the surgery. I also talked to several doctors before choosing my surgeon- specifically their history with performing spinal fusion, their procedures, asked questions, etc. Doing so made it easy for me to give my surgeon my complete trust even though my heart was ready to implode the night before :’) Everyone’s experience is different but on a scale of 1-10, my pain was about a 7 but then again I can’t remember the first 3 days lol. I couldn’t open my eyes bc they were dilated so much from my meds. The pain wasn’t striking, just dull and throbbing so you might have some trouble sleeping for the first week. There were some difficult days (they changed my bandages) and awesome milestone days (when I was able to go outside again on a wheelchair). In the end, I just thought everything they do, no matter how painful, was for a 110% recovery and nothing lasts forever anyway! I had to wear a brace afterward for 3 months. As of now, I can only bend 2 inches side to side and I never try to twist my back. I bend my knees when I pick up a dropped pencil but other times friends who know I had surgery done will pick up things for me so it’s really nice ^.^ I started working out again 4 months later(?). I started really slow. 2.5 mph on the treadmill for 45 minutes and I would test out my limits reasonably. The only thing I can’t do from my workout routine are the New York ballet warm ups I used to do! I also recommend physical therapy. That will really help with flexibility and back/core strengthening. good luck!! ♡

Fulfill me, make me happy, make me feel safe, tell me who I am. The world cannot give you those things, and when you no longer have such expectations, all self-created suffering comes to an end.

How did you teach yourself to sew clothes? also the hamster on your desk it's cute ^_^
Google ^o^ In the beginning I looked up how to draft a basic bodice. Later you can tweak this pattern into something more to your liking (darts, pleats, etc.). Circle/ruffle skirts are easy to learn too. Bodice + skirt = dress I also checked out some books at the library on beginner methods/books with patterns already inside. and yea ikr!! he was a gift ♡
Could you make a mini tutorial for the shirt dress?
I’ve been meaning to make one for a while actually! it will hopefully be up soon since spring break is coming around :o)
I want very much to tell, to talk about, the wholeness inside every human being. It’s a strange thing that every human being has a sort of dignity or wholeness in him, and out of that develops relationships to other human beings, tensions, misunderstandings, tenderness, coming in contact, touching and being touched, the cutting off of a contact and what happens then.
