Sylvia's initial response makes Kusaka roll his eyes-- out of his league? As if anyone could be out of his league! As far as Kusaka was concerned, Sylvia should have counted herself lucky that he paid her what little attention he did!
Kusaka didn't grasp what Sylvia was getting at either when she went on about him checking her out and making fun of her at the same time-- others might have seen the disparity as she did yes, but he didn't see how those things were mutually exclusive, and he wouldn't shy away from voicing it.
"There isn't anything 'amusing'," Kusaka would make air quotes, and do a very poor imitation of Sylvia's voice when he said 'amusing', "about it, sometimes I poke fun at people I find attractive, sometimes I REALLY lay into them, and hell, sometimes I try to kill them, depends on how I feel that day."
Kusaka, once again moving a hand along his still unsheathed Zanpakuto, continues on, recalling the rest of what Sylvia had said, from her doubts about him becoming King one day, to the small threat relating to her lapdog of a partner. Kusaka was silent in the face of those comments from Sylvia, but he wanted to laugh at her for those doubts and continued barking, and then immediately put that threat of hers to the test.
Maybe, Kusaka thought, he could bury Sylvia up to her neck in a torrent of Hyorinmaru's most jagged ice, and then, when her lapdog came running to help, make her watch as he eviscerated them. Kusaka could envision it all so clearly, it would be beyond thrilling, beyond satisfying…… but he knew that he couldn't give into those impulses, they ran contrary to why he approached her today. Granted, Kusaka wouldn't shed any tears if Sylvia attacked him first and gave him no choice but to tear her life apart, but that aside, Kusaka would move along to the matter he saw most important.
"Alright, alright, hold your horses, I'm definitely getting somewhere with this, maybe you're not the idiot I originally thought, maybe," Kusaka says, hands raised for a moment, his reptilian smirk unflinching.
"You have the picture about right, once the Soul Society is purged, this whole twisted house of ours is goin' to collapse on itself; the old man and his fellow monsters, those bastards from the Valley of Screams, the other Quincy who I know for a fact hate everyone else-- you included-- and all the other freaks, its goin' to be a free for all," Kusaka slowly a finger across the base of his neck, "everyone at each other's throats."
Kusaka takes a few more steps toward Sylvia, closing the already small distance between them, and then he throws back his shoulders in a shrug, adding, "when that moment comes along, you're going to want more than your beloved looking out for you, you're going to want people like me and my Arrancar at your back."
Kusaka expected that Sylvia would have some issues with what he was suggesting here, but he didn't harbor an ounce of concern about that. Kusaka believed he had a means of allaying any reservations Sylvia might have, and so he would quietly wait and let her say what she had to, let her get it all out of the way…
