When Ash Ketchum's journey through the galar region ends, the young trainer returns to Alola to see his friends. In his first week back to the warm land, he meets Gladion again. The two sit on the dry sand of Hano Beach, watching the sun let the blue sky for the full moon, yielding a stunning sunset.
"Alola's sunset is fantastic, don't you think?" Ash said as he smiled, looking up to the view. Pikachu nodded with a sincere smile, they really looked alike.
"I don't usually notice that much." The blonde had really missed Ash, but he wouldn't have the heart to say it out loud.
"You should do! It's amazing." The black-haired boy looked back at his friend, who stared at him and ended up letting out a slight smile. "You did it! You smiled!" Ash celebrated like if it was a big event.
"What? Uh, yeah, I smiled." Gladion looked at him, with a confused expression on his face.
"It's because you never smile." He explained, causing the other to think more about the action.
"It's not true." He denied.
"It is! Right, Pikachu?" The young trainer asked while his Pokemon looked at the other boy, embarrassing himself a little for agreeing with his trainer's statement.
Then, Gladion's cellphone vibrated. He sighed and clicked the play when he saw that the name of his mother's.
"Hey, baby! Me and Lillie wish you a very happy birthday!" Lusamine said excitedly on the screen. His sister was in the back, looking embarrassed.
"What?! Is your birthday today? Why didn't you tell me before?" Ash was astonished. For him, birthdays were always an important moment.
"I thought you knew." He put his cellphone on his pockets, standing up as he ran his hand down his pants, brushing off the sand. Unlike ash, the blonde never really cared about those commemorative dates.
"Of course I didn't know!" The boy also got up. "I couldn't even buy a gift for you, my bad." He said through a slightly nervous laugh.
"No problem, I kinda don't care about that. By the way, I'm going to spend my birthday alone." Gladion walked towards the east.
"Alone?" Ash questioned, strangely, since it's not very common to see someone celebrate their birthday alone.
"Well, actually I'll be with my pokemon." Gladion extended his hand holding an ultra ball. "Come here, Umbreon" he said, making his pokemon leave the ball.
In the same second, the moonlight pokemon moved towards the electric mouse. The two ran and started to play with the sea's water.
"I know that pokemon are the best. " The trainer looked at the animals, who were happily playing. "But it would also be nice if Pikachu and I spend the rest of the day at your house." He suggested. "We can bake a cake! How about a chocolate cake?"
"Well...Yeah, sure." Gladion shivered, it was the first time he had the boy at his home. The worst part was that Ash makes the blonde's heart beat faster, but in his mind, that love would never be real. So maybe it would be better to keep his feelings as a secret. Or maybe not.
The two walked with their pokemon to the motel where Gladion resided, a place that could be called home. Upon opening the door, they could see a black TV on the top of a light-brown table, next to it there was a classic lamp and some papers below it. There were two wooden doors that led to the kitchen and bathroom.
Since it was a small place, there was no sofa, just a bed with striped tricolor sheets. Next to it, a bed for Umbreon, with a tiny cyan pillow. Even with little space, there was a small closet in front of a dark wooden desk. On the wall there was a picture frame of the blonde with his sister, holding a cleffa and a lilipup, respectively.
"It feels comfortable here." Ash stepped on the black carpet and threw himself onto the bed. Pikachu sniffed Umbreon's pillow and began exploring the house with his dark type friend.
"It's a quiet place, it's nice." But with his friend there, the silence would probably disappear.
They both headed for the kitchen, the moon was starting to shine outside, through a spotless window with green curtains.
"Gladion." Ash watched his friend get the ingredients to the cake. "Why didn't you go look for your father with them?"
"I have goals to be accomplished on this island." He responded by turning the flour in the pot.
"Wait, are you going to participate in the island challenge?!" The boy ignored everything else, asking about the island battle excitedly.
"I intend to." Gladion broke two eggs by pouring into the bowl. "Can you give me the milk?"
"Wow, I could never imagine that. I mean, you're pretty mysterious." He smiled pouring some milk. Soon, he mixed all the ingredients with the spoon.
"Not so much, I think you already know enough about me." The boy was afraid that Ketchum could find out that he was really falling in love with him.
"Of course I don't." Ash thought and then questioned. "Hey, there is something that i don't know." He said with a little smile. "Have you ever had a girlfriend?" For him, it was almost impossible to imagine his friend in a romantic relationship.
With that question, Gladion stunned. He blushed and tried to say something, but the words couldn't come out of his mouth.
"Oh, I got it." Ash laughed at Gladion's reaction.
"What?" Gladion hands started to shake. "Ash, if you are thinking that I'm gay, I want you to stop that thought right now." He said, taking some step backwards, with a defensive pose.
"Gay?" He blushed a little. "I was going to say that you are too busy with your training. And that would be the reason why you don't want a girlfriend at the moment." Ash smiled while the other boy blushed a lot
"Well, yeah..." Gladion covered his face with his hand, looking away, tapping his foot on the floor nervously.
"Wait a minute..." He thought for a few seconds, his face immediately turned completely red. "Are you gay?" Ash yelled, curiously surprised.
"Shut up, idiot!" The blonde murmured, covering ash's mouth. His cheeks and ears got more pink, and he couldn't even look at his friend's eyes. "Just don't tell anyone, alright?" he pulled his hand away and sighed.
Ash nodded his head positively, smiling excitedly. Gladion didn't understand what was so exciting about it.
The situation started to get complicated, once his secret is out, it would be easier to find out that Gladion was in love with him. Luckily, Ash was always too silly to figure it out by himself.
"When did you realize you're gay?" He started making the chocolate syrup, leaving the rest of the work to the other boy.
"I think I always knew." Gladion couldn't look at Ash, his vision was focused on the chocolate mass. He felt very uncomfortable with these questions, but he answered to try to make his friend not notice his nervousness.
"Have you ever kissed anyone?" Ash smiled a little sheepishly but was curious to know the answer.
"Stop these silly questions." The blonde moved his hand holding the spoon tightly, obviously he had never kissed anyone in his life, but he wouldn't tell the truth.
"So your answer is no?" He asked, having a big silence in response. "Okay, I'll take it as a no." The silence remained. "I kissed a girl once, her name is Serena, but we haven't seen each other since I left Kalos. I've kissed a boy too, he..." Ash was interrupted.
"I don't need to know that." Gladion finished the dough and placed it in the oven. "Is the syrup ready?" Questioned changing the conversation's subject, he wanted as much as possible to avoid these questions.
"Yes, now we just have to leave it here to cool down a bit." Ash left the bowl in the kitchen and walked into the living room, lying down on Gladion's bed. "So soft! Come here buddy." He called for Pikachu, who was lying comfortably on Umbreon's bed. "Looks like he is enjoying your pokemon's bed."
Gladion sat beside him, turning the TV on to a series he was interested in, but Ash would probably find it boring.
"Remember when you treated me badly?" Ash smiled.
"Stop it, I never treated you badly." He said, sometime it looks like everything Ash says is bullshit.
"But you used to look at me like that." Ketchum tried to imitate the other, making an angry expression. "But when you fell on me that day, on top of the garchomp, I noticed that your eyes were glowing differently." Ash smiled. "Then I realized that we were real friends, or maybe even more than that."
"M-More than that?" Gladion felt his whole body shudder, it was too much to take in. How could he have noticed? hat was the day that the blonde realized he was in love with Ash, when he literally fell for him.
"Of course, we have an Ultra-Friendship! Right, Pikachu?" He chuckled as he watched the electric rat eat some poke beans that were in the Lycanrock feed pot. The pokemon agreed, saying "Pi Pikachu".
Gladion breathed a sigh of relief. Obviously, Ash wouldn't realize the kind of affection Gladion felt for him. But he knew that one day or another he would have to confess that. And maybe it could be here, now.
"You know, Ash." He clasped his knees with his hands, staring at the floor. "That day, I had a different feeling. I think I am, I mean, maybe I am..." He hesitated, but took a deep breath to finally admit his feelings. "I think that I..."
Then, he was interrupted by Umbreon. The dark type was on the kitchen counter and the chocolate syrup was spilled all over the floor. Apparently, she dropped the bowl with all the syrup.
"Damn, Umbreon." Gladion got up and went towards the bench, bending down to clean up the dirt floor that his Pokemon left.
"Let me help you. Come help him, Pikachu." Ash ran to him, stumbling in front of him. His hands were smeared with chocolate from leaning on the floor. "My bad, I'm so clumsy." An embarrassed smile spread across his face.
"Are you okay?" His friend held his hand, without realizing it, he blushed, pulling away.
"Yep, it wasn't big deal."
The two of them cleaned until the floor was glowing like a shiny clamperl. Soon after, they sat down on the bed again. Ash said that they should put on a movie, Ash's favorite movie. Gladion wasn't very interested in this type of movie, but he would watch it anyway, to make his friend happy.
"Pika Pi..." The electric rat said through a yawn, Ash led him to Umbreon's bed, who returned the pokeball with the command of his trainer.
"Thank you for letting my Pikachu sleep in Umbreon's bed." Ash said, watching his pokemon snuggle, closing his eyes and falling asleep.
"No problem." He said as he pulled out a blanket. In less than five minutes, Gladion realized that Ash was cold, but he hadn't said anything. "Hey, do you want to cover yourself too?" He said.
"Of course!" Ketchum smiled slightly, sharing the blanket with his friend. The two were very close, almost touching their hands.
Ash touched his fingers to the gaps between the blonde's fingers, chuckling lightly as he blushed. Gladion was startled, causing his face to completely blush.
"Gladion..." The boy whispered.
"Thanks for spending time with me, Ash." He smiled looking into his eyes, it was kinda hard to got that he was face to face with the person that he loved the most, and they were so close.
His fingers intertwined, the black-haried boy caressed the hand of the other boy, who got close slowly. He was so happy to see Ash holding his hand, it felt like he really loved him. His hands were getting closer and closer to Gladion's thigh, which Ash caressed.
The blonde placed his hand on the other boy's waist, both were with red cheecks, and a little nervous. Ketchum held Gladion's face, moving closer until their foreheads were touching.
"Gladion..."
"Ash..."
His lips were just inches apart, and each time the distance lessened. Before they could move any further, the oven beeped, indicating that the cake was ready. The boys broke away quickly, a little embarrassed, heading for the kitchen. Luckily, Pikachu was still sleeping.
They ate the cake without looking at each other, it seemed that Ash saw the hole situation as something smooth, but the other boy felt his legs tremble and his heart speed up. The silence was at the air. Anyway, both liked the result of the candy.
After brushing their teeth, the boys went back to bed, not saying anything. By clicking play and returning to the movie, Gladion was getting closer and closer to Ash. The two were together, again sharing the blanket. The black-haired boy hugged the blonde around his arms. He felt his face getting hotter, hugging Ash around his waist. However, he couldn't look him in the eye.
"I didn't know that you..." Ash said, breaking the silence.
"When you saved my mother." Gladion was looking at the TV, but he wasn't paying atention. "When you saved her, I mean, you've done so much for me and Lillie, you also helped her with her fear of Pokemon. You have a good heart. But actually, when we were flying and I fell on top of you, that's when I realized. Agh, damn it. My bad, Ash. That's so embarrassing." Gladion admitted.
"It's all right. I also felt something at that day."
The silence returned, however, with each second they were closer and closer. Anyway, they got close enough. Ash placed his hand on the boy's chin, pressed his lips to his lips. Gladion completely froze, trying to understand how was that happening. Then, they pulled away and faced each other.
"Are you sure?" Before the blonde could speak any more words, Ash kissed him back. This time, he asked permission to introduce his tongue into the kiss. Giving in, Gladion flicked his tongue intensely, finally enjoying the moment he'd been waiting for.
"Go slowly, just follow my tongue." Ketchum whispered, slowly moving his tongue again. Gladion did the same, trying to follow Ash's rhythm.
The older boy's hands were slipping under Ash's shirt, then touching his nipples. Their bodies were getting hot. Gently, Ash bit the boy's lower lip, placing his hand in his hair, stroking it calmly. They continued for a few minutes, always more intensely.
Gladion fingers touched the other boy's entire body, his hands went down to his pants. They had never felt this before, also never done anything like that. Over his clothes, Gladion waved his hand. Soon, Ash began to do the same, kissing the boy's neck, leaving light marks that made him moan.
"Please tell me what you want me to do." He whispered to the blonde.
"Ash, c-can you...Damn." He took a deep breath, his heart was beating too fast, faster than usual. The words didn't come out of his mouth, but he still tried to speak. "Can you use your...Your mouth?" He said quietly.
"Where?" The two continued to rub through the top of their pants, each second going faster.
"Here." Gladion placed his hand on top of Ash's hand, both on his erection, over his clothing.
The boy nodded and bent down, smoothing his hand over the spot again. The blonde could feel it throbbing, they were both totally hard. As he unbuttoned his pants, he put his hand over the top of Gladion's underwear. Pressing, Ash could hear his low and hoarse moans.
"Can I?" Ash lowered his underwear slowly, before he could remove them, he heard a noise coming from across the room.
"PI-KA-CHUUU!" The Pokemon yelled, confused to see Ash crouched down. Luckily, he had woken up just as his trainer asked if he could get started. So he didn't see what had happened before.
"O-Oh, Sorry, Pikachu. I thought you were sleeping." Ash smiled nervously and zipped up Gladion, who was so embarrassed that he hid his face with his hand.
"W-Well, It's very late now, we should sleep." The blonde stood up, adjusting the clothes on his body.
"Yeah." Ash agreed.
The two layed down, Pikachu went back to sleep. Ash hugged the blonde from behind, making him smile.
"Good night, Gladion."
"Good night." He said, falling asleep with a smile on his face.
