I’m not gonna lie, kids. I’ve been pretty preoccupied. Say congratulations to Ms Pillsbury on her engagement to Coach Tanaka! I’ve been helping her out with her dance moves, so I’ve been a little removed emotionally from glee club, and I’m sorry for that. Your Broadway assignments have been excellent so far, but I’d love to continue this assignment into the next week! Our group number this week is an abridged version of Raise You Up/Just Be from Kinky Boots with Raphael Berry, Kait Hummel, Josie St. James, and Blaine Anderson as our soloists. Let’s keep up the Broadway this week, guys!

Week 14: Broadway

Not really a big explanation for this one, except Raphael stuffed my suggestion box with “Broadway”. But hey, I love some theatrics, too! So our theme this week is looking at musicals and finding ways we can incorporate songs that tell a story into our glee club. Doesn’t matter when the musical came out, as long as it’s been on the stage. Can’t wait to see what you guys come up with!

weekly gLeecap ! 

So last week’s party at Blaine’s house proved to be a pretty crazy time, with kids getting drunk and doing wild things. There were makeovers, there was kissing, and a lot of weekend-long hangovers on Monday morning. The glee club was given ‘wholesomeness’ as a theme for this week as a punishment, and some...interesting songs came out of it. The group number for Wholesomeness week was Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield with Jane Hayward, Roderick Meeks, Mason McCarthy, and Madison McCarthy on solos. Excellent underclassmen representation!

Week 13: Wholesomeness 

Okay, so maybe you all took Scandal week a little bit too seriously. I have eyes and ears everywhere, and I know that you all drank and engaged in otherwise debaucherous behavior at the party this weekend. Now, rather than place blame, I’m going to give you all an assignment on wholesomeness. (Or modesty, or virtue or whatever you’d like to call it.) I want you all to know that you don’t have to grow up too fast! You don’t need all the drinking and drugs and profanity. Enjoy these years of innocence while you can. We’re doing songs of togetherness, songs that inspire good feelings and values this week to try and bring some of that heart back to the glee club. Maybe if one inspires us enough, we’ll do it for Regionals!

weekly gLeecap ! 

So this week the New Directions tackled Scandals since last Monday morning, we were smacked in the face with a Glist (that’s a glee list) of Hots and Nots and the whole club was sent into a frenzy over who made it and why! Some were happy to be on the Hot side, some were disappointed to be on the Not side, and when it all came down to it, it turns out Kitty was the mastermind! Now, in addition to the Glist, we had four candidates running for glee club captain and after a week of campaigning, we have the results! In an unexpected twist, there was a three-way tie. Our New Directions co-captains are....*drumroll* 

Blaine Anderson & Raphael Berry! They will be responsible for organizing group numbers and helping choose songs for competitions. 

And Sugar Motta will be given the position of manager. She will be responsible for glee club promo (including social media), and setting up performances outside of competitions such as pep rallies, assemblies, and local charities.

This was such a busy week! There was also a party this weekend, but details are still coming in. I hope you all acted responsibly.. 👀 The group number for Scandal week was Mr. Brightside by The Killers with  Finn Hudson, Noah Puckerman, Lauren Zizes, and Jake Puckerman as soloists.
