❤ fiestas con amigos ❤
Estoy esperando el autobús escolar:
No tenemos Guaymallen en los Estados Unidos.. 😭😭
Hola! Finalmente estoy en Kentucky. Mis amigos de Argentina quieren ver fotos de mi vida de Kentucky, entonces voy a publicar más fotos (con descripción en Español) para ellos. Bienvenido a mi casa!
✈ ✈ ✈ Last airplane, and I'll finally be back in Kentucky. The past two months have been a blast, and I'm so grateful I was able to have this opportunity. Being immersed in a completely different part of the world, with a different language and culture, is unlike anything else. It's hard to put into words, but I know I'll never forget this summer. It's been an adventure, Argentina. ❤
❤ Goodbye, Argentina. I’ll see you soon. ❤
I arrived in BA around 8 or 9 AM, but our flight to Miami didn't leave until 11:30 that night. So instead of waiting in the Argentinian offices all day, we were allowed to explore the city a bit:
Because it's my last day here un Gualeguay, and I figured maybe I should have posted some photos of the traditional asado I've had probably once a week (or more) here.. Tito prepares the meat in the fireplace like this:
Rosario, part IV. When Tito and Lila want to help me take photos of Argentina to remember everything, they always ask me to take photos of the casinos, despite the fact that I've never gone to a casino while in Argentina. Anyway, here's some photos of the very large, very colorful casino in Rosario:
Rosario, part III. Torta asada, basically Argentinian naan, was one of the many traditional foods being sold in the park. Also, telling people you're from the US and are doing a project on Argentina gets you pretty far, in terms of permission for photos.
Rosario, part II. Argentina celebrated Día del Niño yesterday, and the central park was full of carnival-style games, food, and animal. I asked Lila if the word for alpaca was the same in Español (it is), but the man with the animals heard me, and I was treated to a ten minute lesson on the difference between llamas and alpacas.
(part I of IV) So we went to Rosario yesterday (second largest city in Argentina, after BA) and Maisa wanted to go to McDonald’s because we don’t have one in Gualeguay. Big Macs are called McNificas, and they actually have a paper menu for the desserts, if you ask. (And isn’t it cute that “I’m lovin’ it” becomes “me encanta” ? 😊)
As my exchange comes to a close, I'm realizing how hard it's going to be to say goodbye. I went out to dinner with the professors from the London Institute, and I can't thank them enough for all that they're done for me. Paola, Luisina, Edy, and Soledad welcomed me with open arms and helped me whenever I needed anything. I don't want to leave these guys, but at least they've promised to visit me soon!
Maisa continues to teach me about selfies, including the "mirror selfie". Still not a huge fan of this kind, though:
Exploring in Gualeguaychu, the similarly named, slightly larger city located about an hour out of Gualeguay:
Current status: little spoon.
