LRCCPH: A Solid Community
It’s 2019 and social media has evolved so much that you can do almost everything through it – be it for your online selling business, a way to connect to people, share your thoughts and ideas, or even share your passion.
Yes. Passion.
Let’s talk about Facebook. It started as an innovative face of Friendster (hooray, 90’s kids) which has better features and was originally created to be connected to everyone, wherever you are (you can be, today). But now, Facebook has grown that this platform offers more space for people to begin their business or make a space for their passion – like photography & color-grading. We cannot deny the fact that Facebook was renowned as one of the most powerful tools for online advertisement. Hence, most of the groups for photography & color-grading functions on Facebook.
Just like LRCCPH.
LRCCPH stands for Lightroom Creative Club PH – which was founded by Arjhay De Leon (check his March Digital Magazine Issue here). With a various number of Lightroom groups actively functioning nowadays, it can’t be denied that you must be different for you to stand out. And that is what LRCCPH was made for.
Created last February 8, 2019, the group now has a total of 12,215 members from all over the world (yes, we have international members, too) up to writing this article. We are talking about 32 days to be exact, and this group has grown so fast!
For someone who’s part of the group’s admin, I can only attest to my experience and share what I have observed as to why this group has grown that fast in 32 days.
Engagement – the engagement of LRCCPH has been trending up since day 1! The admins & moderators of the group make sure that there will always be some activity that the members can participate in, like photo challenges.
Learning – aside from a great engagement, one thing that I am happy about to see on this group are those tutorials from their Learning Tab. LRCCPH offer not only a wall to share your output but also a moment for the members to learn – be it color grading, photography, photo manipulation & many more – thanks to the supportive admins, moderators & even members who are sharing their tutorials.
Communication – speaking for LRCCPH, I can ensure you all that member – admin/moderator communication was there. Admins and moderators find the time to engage to posts of the members, and most of the time, encourage everyone to read the House Rules to ensure that their posts won’t be declined but will have a chance to be posted and shared (especially if there are some minor opportunities with the specific format). Not only that the members learn from this, but it creates a light environment and removes the wall between members and admins/moderators.
(Arjhay created this approval flow chart to help the members)
Wall Sharing – while this is one of the main goals of LRCCPH, members are very much engaged in sharing their presets & photos through our wall sharing. We can see great outputs from the members.
With that being said, I can surely say the LRCCPH is one of the best groups at the moment. The Lucky You preset creator successfully turned this group into a community full of good vibes & learnings.

AN EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH ARJHAY DE LEON
Mysterious - this was my first impression of Arjhay. This has been my perception of him up until I was able to meet him in person during his talk held at Presidential Car Museum - BLACK: The Art of Color Grading.
Most of the attendees were there earlier than the call time trying to shake first-meet-jitters, building small talks and getting to know each other, until Arjhay arrived and we are all at awe. Why? For how many months of talking to him online, we never had a chance to meet him, until that seminar and the [mysterious] guy gave us one big smile. That’s when we saw how genuine and sincere his goodness is. A smile of a true leader.
[RAW] glimpse: How would you describe Arjhay de Leon? Arjhay: A simple guy who loves to travel and take photos.
glimpse: Friends, Family, Followers.. How do you think they will describe you? Arjhay: Most of them will say I'm snobbish and serious. glimpse: If Arjhay De Leon is not a photographer, what or who do you think you are now? Arjhay: I think I'm still the same person I've always been [couz] I never considered myself as a photographer hahaha! I'm just a traveler/hobbyist. [STRAIGHT OUT OF CAMERA] glimpse: Why photography? Arjhay: I considered myself as an aesthetic person who appreciate beauty in everything and I believe photography will help people to see and realize that beauty is everywhere. glimpse: Who is Arjhay De Leon without his camera? Arjhay: A weirdo guy who hates crowds hahaha. glimpse: What’s the story behind Lightroom Creative Club PH? Arjhay: It's a very long story about friendship that turns to betrayal, "nagkapilian na" hahaha and I believe most of you already knew the story behind it. But to cut it short, I created this group for the hobbyist like me; to learn more about photography and color grading. I chose the word "creative club" so that everyone can showcase their knowledge not just in photography and color grading but also to the other aspects of arts. glimpse: When did this hobby turn into passion? Arjhay: Since the beginning of smartphone in PH. I think that was year 2012 when I got my first smartphone, that is Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro. This is when the mobile camera started to produce a good quality of photo and Facebook became handy. [POST PROCESSING] glimpse: A Day With Arjhay De Leon, What's your typical day like? Arjhay: Taking photographs everywhere hahaha! Pang filler rin po yun sa IG feed. Find inspiration and watching movies... boring! glimpse: What is your photography style? Why? Arjhay: Landscape and street. I love nature, I love our planet (naks makamundo haha) But seriously, I just want to keep my memories of how beautiful that place is, by the means of photograph. glimpse: As a photographer, what's the most important thing to keep in mind? Arjhay: Appreciate everything around you and your creativity will just follow accordingly. glimpse: What do you want to tell the world? Arjhay: Be grateful. Art is everywhere. glimpse: What will you tell your 7-yr-old self? Arjhay: Never stop dreaming, stay nice and humble, be friendly, and most importantly always love your parents. Never ever say "I hate you" no matter how pissed off you are. glimpse: In what order should these things come for you: passion, purpose, profit. Arjhay: First, love you passion. Next, know your purpose. Lastly, if you love what you're doing and you know what's your purpose then your output will be the fruit of your hard work which is alongside profit. [ISSUES] glimpse: What is the most challenging part of being a photographer? Arjhay: Having good friends who appreciate your works. glimpse: As a photographer of this generation, what are your greatest achivements so far? Biggest challenges you conquered? Arjhay: Greatest achievements so far, having a circle friends that believe in me (Power Agartha!). A learning group (LRCCPH) that gives hope to everyone.
Biggest challenges so far, I think it's when we were betrayed by a group of people, akala namin true friends fake pala. glimpse: What do you want your photographs to tell the world? Arjhay: God is the greatest artist of all time. [HUES] glimpse: What is that one music that will make you go out and take photos? Arjhay: I love classic music, Pachelbel - Canon In D Major I guess hehe. glimpse: Describe your color-grading mood. Arjhay: Desaturated and matte. glimpse: How long does it take for you to publish a set of photographs? Arjhay: A week I think hahaha. Medyo OC po ako sa pagcurate . [WATERMARK] glimpse: To watermark or not to watermark? Arjhay: Since photography is not my source of income, so not to watermark, para full view. glimpse: In one strong word, describe yourself as a photographer. Arjhay: Compassionate [BONUS SET] 5 Fun Facts About You: - I love color green - Oc - I hate fish - Green thumb daw ako. Ako lagi pinagtatanim sa bahay. So far lahat naman ng tinamin ko nabuhay. - Dog lover
Here you have it, a deeper view of who Arjhay De Leon is. We had so much fun talking to him and of course, getting to know the man who builds a strong community, more.
EDITOR’S NOTE: A STRONG BEGINNING - THE DEBUT ISSUE
Photo shared by Arjhay De Leon
As someone who spends 80% of the time in different platform of social media, I realized that social media can create different worlds for different types of people – sharing their passion, skills, hobbies, ideas and thoughts. Each platform offers variety of tools for us to express ourselves, that’s how powerful social media is. With that being said, we are very happy to offer you glimpse – a platform created to give a brand new space for artists of this generation.
The sole vision of glimpse is to offer a safe space for everyone to express their ideas – be it in a form of article, a set of photos, some tips & tricks, etc. Our goal is to feature different artists showcasing their talent, skills and passion.
Glimpse is an extension of Lightroom Creative Club PH (LRCCPH) – a community created by the man on the cover, Arjhay De Leon, which aims to help the members grow through photography & color-grading.
When I was given the chance to be part of Arjhay’s group which has a very interesting name and story – Agartha, I started to realize that it is not impossible for you to develop a brand new friendship for the people you met online. Why? Agartha is not your typical group or circle of friends – they are my family. We shared tears, laughter, personal circumstances, but more than anything else, we have shared genuine happiness as we learn day by day. Arjhay was selfless enough to give us an exclusive access to his newly developed presets before sharing it to world, and was selfless enough to share his techniques in photography and color-grading. No wonder, he is a man who knows how to walk the talk.
With my stay in Agartha & as part of the Admin of LRCCPH, I realized that I can help this community grow by offering something different which would be beneficial for the community – glimpse.
Together with my partner, Leomer Artillaga, and the guidance of Ryan Tan, We aim to offer a photo gallery for those who would like to share their craft in photography & color-grading; a section for articles for those who would like to share their passion in writing. Hence, this will create a brand new bridge for the members of LRCCPH to express their talents.
We are also aiming in delivering a monthly issue of digital magazine featuring different people & artists inside & outside the group and give a chance for the world to know them more.
And today, we are about to unveil a strong beginning for glimpse – feauring the man behind LRCCPH.
Let’s all witness how Arjhay De Leon was able to create a solid community – LRCCPH.
