I'll forever hate how they did the women in gameoverse, I mean every single man has a unique body that you can figure out who is who, just by the shadow of them, but the women? Copy n paste, they all have big boobs small waist and big hips, hell even kits mom has them! And she's a mom! The only exception to it is crab girl and female fish (that also have big boobs) but every single girl background or not has the exact same body and it's annoying how much fans try and say "it's not the exact same!! Look at crab girl!!"

lets look at some things
kit and miss information. why do they look so similar? like, not just the bustiness, but also the height. why isnt miss information tall? she’s based off jesse, who’s almost the same height as james!!! why is she short????? like they both fall into the category of ‘big chest, small height.’ why,,,,,???????,?,??,?,?,?? and they ARENT FROM THE SAME GAMEEEEE you cant even use the ‘all girls in a game look the same’ excuse.
also, let’s make one thing clear. women in old video games 100% had non-sexualized rep. see princess zelda in oot and tp, peach in mario, or amy in sonic. all women that are non-sexualized. so yeah, girls often WERE but not always. AND they had tall rep.
also. let’s look at the female rep for megaman (a game kit takes a good amount of inspiration from).
note: i’m not a mega man fan, and i’m assuming a lot of these designs weren’t in game 1. but i’d say the point still stands.
yes, this isn’t like.. amazing diversity. ass diversity even. but look at kit’s world.
every woman looks the same. if they all wore the same outfit, they’d look quadruplets with dyed hair.

first off, the crab girl doesn’t even.. make sense.
an example of a non-humanoid girl monster in a game:
like,, usually if a monster isnt humanoid, it doesnt get girl features. so crab girl is just ??? why lashes?? and the other girl who’s design is ACTUALLY unique is a bg character!!!
so yeah uhhh. this isn’t really about girls in games always looking the same. because girls in games have flat chests, they can be tall, they can look non-gendered. gameoverse just.. didnt want to make unique women. it’s misogynistic. i hope for future episodes they rectify this.

I have to admit, being friends with someone who's a fan of the series can be hard sometimes.
I'm not saying they're bad people, they are good friends who I believe happened to be naive about the whole situation (if my friend sees this, i'm so sorry) but honestly, i don't think I'd find myself to bother explaining to them about why everyone is suddenly against glitch and the creators behind it, maybe because I'd rather if they find it themselves instead.
I mean, it's enough I lost two people over an Instagram story I made talking about it, neither asked "why am I suddenly uncomfortable around them/their friend", I just got blocked, straight up, nothing and with no explanation. I admit, the way I worded it sounded harsh but that's because one of them was a hardcore fan to the point they shamed fans for getting their money back because they got spoiled by the ending of the finale of the series (and other reasons like Glitch's mistreatment towards employees) but seriously, can you even blame me for dealing with trust issues? It may not be an excuse but it's not my fault that I found myself overthinking that they're becoming a toxic fan.
At least only one remained despite him being a fan of TADC and buying from them, even though he doesn't know what's going on but I can tell he read my stories and recommended me to move my TADC OC to another universe and change her the same way he's doing with his.
He's a good guy, a good friend who happened to enjoy shows that has writing issues and I don't think I can bring myself to lose another. At least he himself also despises Jax and loves Ribbit because he relates to her when he watched the argument scene between (let's say it gave him an unpleasant memory).

I feel like im the only person that doesnt like murder drones. Its just like, extremely confusing. When I first watched it I couldnt understand anything at all, it was extremely confusing and overstimulating for me. I still cannot understand how that show is famous and has an fandom
i never watched it because of the fans. not because they did anything bad but because they just kept going ‘yeah you just have to get 4 episodes in to like it’ like i think murder drones might just be a bit poorly written
I am so out of hope actually. I adored the Gaslight District pilot, the show is exactly my style, but seeing the downwards direction that glitch is going in. Just messes me up inside, man. I want to see more of the show because it's so cool but. I don't want to think of glitch anymore tbh. I am so afraid of what kind of stuff could be going on about it backstage like the other shows and what it could start to look like writing wise. I hope it's good. I really hope it's good. I'm scared as fuck though

Y’all umm tadc is an indie series. The point of indie is to give writers more creative freedom, including having explicitly queer characters. Words such as “lesbian” “gay” “bisexual” “trans” etc. ARE NOT BAD WORDS!!!!!! As a lesbian myself I’m done with breadcrumbing. I’m done with creators being like “ah yes I wrote this character with repressed lesbian aura vibes in mind but I’m not gonna explicitly tell u she’s a lesbian in the show bc if I do it would no longer be accessible to 72 countries and I need the money money moneyyyyy” Nope. Fuck that shit. I’m out 🤷♀️
We’re not in a climate where Jax being implicitly trans is the right way to go, most people aren’t transgender and some fans don’t even understand being transgender.
It feels like they think they’re one of those niche indie shows where a small group of queer fans like it and can understand boymoding, and being closeted, and all the trans stuff, but really it’s a huge franchise where a lot of fans are straight and cis, as well as fans who have never been exposed to queer themes. You can’t expect them to get all of those themes if they have 0 exposure. Like if her being trans wasn’t going to be fully canon and they didn’t have the bow scene, I’d probably excuse it because it’d be something for the queer fans. But they did add the bow scene, and really all that did was make it canon to queer people and headcanon to cis people who dont understand all the foreshadowing and shit that was put into it, causing a big community discourse on canonicity, and I just feel because of that they should have just been clearer on jax being trans
tbh nothing more i can think of to put on the argument here, i agree that if they decided to have trans jax be canon they shouldve gone into it further. like jax herself wouldn’t even have to confirm it, just having pomni mention something about it to one of the others would’ve been enough. the voiceover saying anything about lee’s identity. anything more.
I feel like no one is pointing out how weird this is enough. Like, you change an entire character because of the person you cast was so sweet and you just couldn't push for that person to be angry? It feels like typecasting sort of, or just not really understanding the acting part of voice acting. Why would you shoot yourself in the foot with your creative choice here?? I'd imagine a good project would push an actor to become the character, not be written around the actor when it comes at the cost of characterization for the main character. A baffling creative choice.

when a va doesn’t fit a character, you ask them to adjust their voice or switch their role (for example stephanie beatriz in encanto; her voice didnt fit luisa, so she was cast as mirabel. they didnt fucking rewrite luisa).
also this is just some bad stereotyping on goose’s part. ‘yeah she’s nice, she can’t ever be an angry person!!’ goose you’re the head writer you’re supposed to understand nuance.

I just don't see why she couldn't cut the cast down by removing or combining characters. She didn't have to have a main cast of 7.
Indie creators don't have the resources that bigger studios do. If you can't handle the workload that you've given yourself, then it's on you to manage the project better. Kill your darlings if you have to.
main cast of 7 was just WAY too big for the story goose wanted. it was impossible for them all to get the love they deserved.
tadc was written in two weeks, and it’s obvious. listen, it’s okay to write bad for a small time indie show. that’s normal. but this show is the rep for a pretty big studio, and for the studio’s second show they needed someone who could write better. someone more experienced.
it’s okay to like a character that isn’t written the best or is shoddy rep. i’m a system that LOVES toko fukawa, im not any better than a jax lover. but PLEASE stop spending every second trying to defend the way she was written. you don’t have to. you can just like the rabbit.

I really feel like glitch productions manages to butcher their webseries each final episode. Murder Drones lost the plot after episode 4 and Digital Circus' writing did not sit right with me after episode 3. It all felt too focused on Jax and none of the other characters really had their problems get any attention :/

Have you watched Hfjone yet? It’s a web series very similar to tadc but it’s way way wayyyyy better and the show isn’t (to my knowledge) racist or misogynistic :3 (I must spread the Hfjone propaganda)

I need both Glitch fans and critics to get more normal about intersex people. It feels like a double bind as an intersex person to see Frankie (A cis butch woman who does have a lot of visibly intersex traits and the misgendering can be intermisogyny + her having experienced a sex reassignment at one point) get harpooned for not being a peritrans woman and then see someone with a co-opted slur for japanese intersex people in their url and an icon of transfem Jax (Which perisex people cannot reclaim the slur. I do not care if a perisex trans person claims they can, it's a slur for intersex people. I do know that Jax's live action actor is asian but I do not trust any perisex person to use it in good faith oe reclaimation in Jax's case). Dear god being intersex and seeing intersexism everywhere sucks, especially with TADC's brain scans being bioessentialist with the "gendered brains" shit. How would a brain scan even get gendered data. I know they're a magical macguffin in the series but it gets harder and harder to suspend disbelief when you pay attention to it being a headset with one computer. Not even an MRI is going to get your gender in any meaningful way.
i personally can’t say much on intersexuality; i am not intersex.
but the gendered brain thing is bullshit. there’s not some kind of magical component in your brain that makes you think ‘i’m a girl/boy.’ it’s based off your experiences and what you see in the world and in yourself.
Probably the only Glitch cartoon I'm interested in right now is Lackadaisy and yet that's the one that the company just stopped caring about. And if any controversy comes out about its creator or anybody working on it I am going to be so mad
