Hello, awesome gift idea! The difficult part is creating or finding a suitable 3D CAD model that defines the geometry you like in a final printed part. Comb through Thingiverse and other 3D model libraries, or create it yourself. Once you have a 3D model, we can look into price. Hope this helps!

Here's a thought: Have you ever wanted your toothbrush to be presented off the side of your medicine cabinet or your cell phone to mount on a tripod?  Think of a couple other examples of mounting or connecting parts that you could make with a 3D printer.  Before 3D printing, I used a lot of duct tape to get what I wanted to stay put... that time is gone.
